Extremely Disappointed – Not Worth the “5-Star” Label This hotel was a huge letdown and completely failed to live up to its supposed “five-star” reputation. 1. Terrible Front Desk Experience The lobby is far too small for the amount of guests, and the front desk is severely understaffed. Whether it’s check-in or check-out, you’ll be stuck in long lines every day. Even if you check out on time, you’re forced to waste a lot of time waiting, which is a major inconvenience for anyone with plans. The efficiency is nowhere near what you’d expect from a luxury hotel. 2. Disappointing Breakfast The breakfast buffet has very limited options, and the food is mediocre at best. However, the worst part is the appalling service. If you leave your table briefly to grab a drink, don’t be surprised to come back and find your utensils gone—except for a knife. When I asked a staff member for a fork and spoon, I was told to find them myself. On top of that, the staff seemed uninterested and more focused on chatting with each other, deliberately avoiding eye contact with guests. If you need assistance, be prepared to wait a long time. This level of service is unacceptable. 3. ❗️Unauthorized Charges After Check-Out After check-out, I discovered nearly AUD 400 was charged to my credit card without any explanation. Despite providing my email and phone number during check-in, the hotel made no effort to notify me or send a breakdown of the charges. To this day, I have no idea what the charges are for. We checked out on time and only consumed two bottles of juice from the minibar. I emailed the hotel after noticing the charge, but I haven’t received any response. This lack of accountability is incredibly unprofessional. 4. Poor Room Experience Our room faced a construction site, so there was absolutely no view. Considering the high price of staying here, this was deeply disappointing. 5. Terrible Traffic Flow at the Drop-Off Area The hotel’s drop-off and pick-up area is horribly planned. There’s no clear separation for temporary drop-offs and valet parking, leading to a complete traffic jam. Cars were gridlocked, barely moving, and every time I ordered a ride, I had to wait ages just to have my car make it to the front. This poor design significantly impacted our ability to get around. In conclusion, Sydney has plenty of hotels with better views, locations, and service. Avoid this so-called “five-star” hotel at all costs. Unprofessional team and an embarrassing excuse for a luxury property. Shame on you!

We recently stayed at Crown Sydney, and unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations. From the beginning, we encountered issues. After selecting a room and being quoted a price, the rate increased by approx $300, which we were told was due to an error in the booking date. While this was fine and we paid the difference, it was not a good first impression. The check-in process was also unnecessarily long, a recurring complaint in other reviews. During our stay, service was inconsistent. Items requested to our room took over two hours, two phone calls, and a trip to reception to finally arrive. Additionally, there was confusion over our Uber Eats delivery. We were initially told it could not be delivered to our room, which at that point we had been waiting 20 minutes for it to arrive, only for this decision to be reversed later. The hotel itself was fine but unremarkable. The view was ok too, but at over 1.5k per night, we expected better service and attention to detail. Overall, the stay did not meet our expectations, and unfortunately I cannot say that I recommend it unless they make some serious changes.

Check in was slow with only 2 people at the desk at 3.30pm. Our room control tablet said another persons name. We were supposed to get a welcoming bottle of champagne on arrival which didn’t arrive. I range reception at 5.15 to see where it was and they said it’s on its way. At 5.30 I went down to reception to find out what was going on and they glared at the screen and said it’s coming. 10minutes before our restaurant reservation the champagne arrived, the poor lady delivering it was flustered and you could tell they are pushing their staff too hard. No way could we enjoy any of the champagne in 10min and we ended we ended up taking it home. When we arrived at the epicurean we were greeted with no mention of our wedding anniversary ( when we booked it we were asked was this a special occasion and we filled in the information). They sat us next to 2 large tables with screaming kids running around. Hardly romantic!. We asked to move and they put us at different table only to come back 10minutes later saying our dining experience would be cut short by half an hour because they needed that table. We filled out an online survey they sent us post check out and said they would contact us. Well nothing a week later. Not our first time at the crown Towers but this will be our last. Save your money better hotels in Sydney than this one.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My stay at the Crown Hotel was an absolute nightmare in terms of safety, cleanliness, and guest services. As soon as we entered our room, we took off our shoes, only to have my partner step on a piece of glass embedded in the carpet, causing her to bleed. This is completely unacceptable, and it left us worried that there might be more glass hidden in the carpet. When we reported it, hotel staff didn’t even bother to come and properly sweep the room. The lack of cleanliness didn’t stop there. We found chocolate stains on the leather chair, further proof that the room was not properly cleaned before our arrival. Guest services were a hit or miss, you might get what you requested in 10 minutes or nothing for the rest of your stay. We waited 30 minutes for extra towels that never came causing us to nearly miss our reservation. To add insult to injury, they charge a $7 tray fee for bringing up basic items like cutlery. I’ve never seen anything like this at other hotels. Overall, this stay was a huge disappointment. I felt unsafe and uncared for, and the lack of hospitality and cleanliness is something no guest should have to endure. Avoid this place if you value your safety, comfort and money...

Rooms were nice but a lot of hidden extra charges. I also wanted to use the spa and sauna and they wanted to charge me $100 to use it. I was told at the buffet it was $40 a person but then at check out they wanted to charge me $65 a person. Would not recommend. We wanted to order room service but they wanted to charge a $7 fee. To park my car underground was also $100 even though I payed heaps for the hotel.
