I wasn’t impressed at all. Stains on the benchchair and bed sheets . Positives; Bed was comfy, black out blinds. Negatives ; Slow check in. Awful BO mixed with spray deodorant smell in foyer and lifts. Putrid! Noisy street noise. Breakfast- too many people , staff looked stressed & Unprofessional. Poorly presented ,tried and clearly not trained in hospitality. Price was way too much for the tiny doll house room and appliances. Awful grey colour on walls and no paintings or pictures. By far the worst budget hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Ripoff as I paid $250 1st night and $315 2nd night. WAY too much for what it’s worth.

Stayed at Holiday Inn Express Newcastle and had a very pleasant experience overall. The location is convenient — close to the city centre, restaurants, and the waterfront. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable, offering everything you need for a short stay. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch, with a decent variety to start the day right. Staff were friendly and efficient, always ready to help with a smile. Only small downside was that parking can be a bit tight the walls of the room are quite thin, not great soundproofing, especially when you are trying to sleep at 12 at night and you can hear the ramblings next door. All in all, a reliable and comfortable stay — great value for money and would happily return

Great first time here, staff all very friendly and helpful and location was so convenient to waterfront (just a 10minute walk). Parking outside gets busy so would advise for inside parking anyway which is $20 a night- fair. We got the free breakfast, simple but still very flavoursome food. Nice view of Birdpark and city scape, really nice.

Holiday Inn Express is becoming my 'new rising star' when it comes to domestic and international accommodation preferences. The Newcastle iteration is fresh, funky, friendly and a really nice place to base yourself when staying in Newcastle for work or 'not work'. Nicely appointed rooms that are clean and cozy - and the inclusive breakfast is a really nice value-add. Staff are really friendly, and give the impression they really want the best for you. Parking upstairs is worth the extra cost for those travelling by car.

Enjoyed our brief stay. Room was clean and tidy. Only complaint was no top sheet, only a doona, not great for me that gets to hot or hubby that is usually cold. Otherwise everything else was great. Breaky the next morning was very nice. All staff we encountered were lovely & friendly.
