The picturesque location of this establishment is undeniably charming, boasting a delightful historic setting that offers a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The heritage ambiance and scenic views contribute to the overall appeal of the place, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, my stay during the summer months, especially in mid-February, left much to be desired. While I appreciate the historical significance of the location and the noted absence of air conditioning in the rooms, the scorching weather turned my room into a veritable hotbox. Despite having a ceiling fan, the lack of airflow rendered my stay uncomfortably warm. The placement of the fan on the ceiling seemed ineffective, and a simple pedestal fan would have been a more practical solution. Even attempts to alleviate the heat by opening the door and window were futile, as there was no possibility of airflow. It was disheartening to find that other guests shared the same grievance. Despite this setback, I would be willing to return, albeit strictly during the middle of winter, to fully appreciate the charm without the discomfort caused by the oppressive heat. On a positive note, the Boiler Room restaurant surpassed expectations with its delectable offerings, earning an A+ rating from me. I highly recommend dining there, and I intend to revisit solely for the culinary experience. The staff throughout the establishment were consistently friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, the shuttle service, as explained during check-in, fell short of expectations and requires some attention and fine-tuning to fulfill its promised convenience. Despite these drawbacks, my overall experience was marked by the enchanting setting, outstanding culinary offerings, and the amiable staff.

A lovely 2 night stay for a wedding anniversary. The bed was comfortable and the sheets and towels top quality. The room wasn’t huge but they had refurbished the original buildings well. You get to know your neighbours as most of us took time to sit on the verandah and read or watch the harbour. The views were amazing. Loved the bushland setting and cute little beach.

I loved my time at this place, my only complaint is that 3 days exploring wasn't enough. I loved my cosy and modern room that still held the historical feel. The views are breathtaking. The remote bush setting makes you feel like you have stepped back in time looking across the harbour and time with the city view. I am now more obsessed with this place than I was before I came and I can't wait to visit again.

This was a Bucket List trip to Sydney for Boxing Day seeing the Yacht’s leaving the harbour. Great location. However we were expecting a different level of service. We paid for the VIP treatment to view the race. The food was nice and served with a smile. A bottle of French champagne and water. For a VIP package I was expecting not to put my hand in the pocket for a premium priced beer. We did chat with great locals, all the more for a great day. As for the accommodation, other than (I assume) heritage listed it was very underwhelming. During our stay we experienced warm and humid weather, so to need a (rather worn out) pedestal fan was perplexing. There is a ceiling fan, but it was lucky to push ANY air around the room. To overhear at reception on our departure that a guest regularly brings his own electric fan(s) is nothing to boast about. The restaurant on site provided nice, but very limited selection then still charge premium prices for drinks. Location is great, this cant be denied however the expectation of an international chain Accor was severely left wanting. Way overpriced for the accommodation. We won’t be back

Fantastic views - ocean, harbour, city and Manly. All rooms without airconditioning are absolute hell during warm Summer nights - especially when ceiling fan does not work. Great walks. Buffer breakfast good and convenient. We love staying in contemporary heritage places.
