This was our first time visiting Slate, and it was absolutely amazing. It may be one of the best customer service experiences you can have in the CBD. The staff were incredibly nice, polite, and attentive. We tried the calamaris, lamb skewers, prawn capellini, and dark chocolate whiskey ice cream. Everything tasted out of this world—fresh, beautifully presented, and incredibly delicious. We had such a wonderful time here and will definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We were looking for a place to have lunch while on a day trip to Melbourne and stumbled upon Slate at Goldsbrough Village. What a fantastic find! The rooftop terrace was the perfect spot to enjoy the beautiful weather, creating an amazing outdoor dining experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was efficient and attentive, taking our drink orders immediately and serving them within minutes. When we ordered our food, they informed us that one dish might take around 20 minutes, but everything arrived without much delay—and it was absolutely delicious! We also had the pleasure of speaking with the owner/manager, who was incredibly friendly and genuinely interested in ensuring we had a great experience. Highly recommend Slate for a relaxed lunch or drinks with friends. They’re open late on some weekdays, making it a great spot for an evening out as well. Plus, the washrooms are very clean—always a bonus for travelers. We’ll definitely be back!
