Stayed here for Mother’s Day. Lovely and clean room. Spacious bathroom and a lovely lake and garden area out the back. Staff at reception and the restaurant for dinner, were all lovely and accommodating. The food was delicious. The lady who seemed to be managing the floor (brown hair) was absolutely fantastic. Thank you . The prawns were amazing and great value. Cant wait to be back for those

We've stayed here on half a dozen occasions and love it every time. The location is perfect, so close to the Dandenongs & the Yarra Valley. Some rooms have a view of the lake which makes sitting on the balcony very relaxing. You can walk to either the bistro or the Collective and sit inside or out in the beer garden. Great swimming pool in a nice surrounding. Friendly staff make it all the more welcoming. We'll definitely be back. Regards, Michael

We had a lovely time yesterday! We were seated in the Collective, which is expansive yet cosy, thanks to the fireplace. The food was great, with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options clearly marked on the menu. Service was a little slow at times, but I'll give them a pass as it was Mother's Day. They let us bring a cake and candles from outside, which they were happy to store in the kitchen and bring out, fully prepared/lit, when requested. Everyone was really happy with the experience!

We went in for a family night dinner. This was my first time to the York. It was ok, at best. The menu was quite small. I was after a spaghetti dish which unfortunately didn't appear to be in the menu, aside from the kids option, I ended up with the Parma instead. We were also seated in a small segregated area where we wernt able to watch the football on the night. Aside from that, the York has friendly staff, lots of parking and prices seemed reasonable. I would suggest this spot for someone wanting a quiet space, not so ideal for couples, friends, kids or sport enthusiasts. The York is also located where transport would need to be via a car, just a heads up.

We attended a wake at 1pm, til 4 pm in the Bellbird room. Close family and friends wanted to continue catching up and celebrating the life of a cherished man, so we went to ‘The Collective’ bistro. We were offered a table, but told that the table was booked for 6 pm. We thanked them, and enjoyed our time. Around 6pm, as no tables were available, we headed outdoors, where each of our table of 14 ordered meals & drinks. We were told by the security guard that we were ‘too loud’. We were only talking to each other. We were enjoying our meals when a huge possum ran across the rafters and into what we thought was a water tank. One of the girls with us banged the table in disbelief. The security guard then told us we were too noisy & disturbing the other patrons. There were 5 other patrons there finishing their dinner. I asked to speak to the manager, the security guard said I could call tomorrow. I asked to see the duty manager who was on this evening, he said he’d go and find them. After he did not return, I approached another staff member & asked to speak to the manager. She was the manager. When asked why we would no longer be served, she replied that we had been here since 1pm. She had assumed that all our party had been drinking. (In fact, we had designated drivers amongst us who did not drink any alcohol.) No one in our group was disrespectful or aggressive. The manager told us that she needed to follow RSA. We understand that, but we were treated very unfairly by all staff involved. I would not recommend the venue for any type of gathering. After such a stressful two weeks for this grieving family, they did not deserve to be treated as drunken louts.
