The Rogue Squire in Wheelers Hill is an absolute standout. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of character. But what truly sets this place apart is the beer—divine doesn't even begin to cover it. Every brew is crafted to perfection, with rich, bold flavors that leave you wanting more. Whether you're a casual sipper or a full-blown beer enthusiast, their range will impress. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to offer recommendations. Great food, excellent service, and top-tier beer—what more could you ask for? It’s my go-to spot, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!

Great place for catching up with friends….which we try and do every few months. Food has always been delish. Ordered the pie this time which was really tasty with real meat filling and crunchy pastry. Only disappointing thing was the mash and broccolini were on the cold side!!! Staff were very apologetic and gave us all a free dessert!!!! Thank you!! All staff were lovely and friendly! Will keep going back there for our catch and delicious food!!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Rogue Squire in Wheelers Hill, and it was an experience worth sharing. This venue pays homage to James Squire, Australia's first brewer, by offering a wide selection of his craft beers alongside modern pub fare. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between sophistication and comfort. The interior boasts exposed brick, elegant copper pipework, and tasteful lighting, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of Melbourne's high-end establishments. The menu is diverse, featuring modern cuisine designed to complement the rich flavors of James Squire beers. On my visit, I opted for the pie, which was delightful—a savory filling encased in a flaky, crunchy pastry. The accompanying mash and broccolini were slightly lukewarm, but this minor hiccup was promptly addressed by the attentive staff, who offered complimentary desserts as an apology. Speaking of the staff, Eden stood out with exceptional service. His friendly demeanour and attentive nature added a personal touch to the evening, making us feel truly valued as guests. Whether you're a fan of craft beers or simply seeking a place with great food and ambiance, The Rogue Squire is a commendable choice. It's evident that the staff, including Eden, are dedicated to ensuring a memorable experience for every patron.

Food, portion size and service has gone downhill post COVID / lockdown. Previously this place had a nice vibe and the staff were friendly and the food was fantastic however, now everything has taken a U turn and is going the other way. I would not recommend this place anymore. In summary the food is pretty much what I could get out of a supermarket packet or the frozen food isle section.

We held our Rehearsal Dinner here and we were blown away at how amazing the food, service and ambiance was. The venue went above and beyond our expectations and everyone we dealt with has been sooo lovely and wonderful. The space was also great for our group of around ~30. They even catered for the kids and gave them colouring packs. The food was delicious, large portions and presented really nicely. I'll definitely recommend it to everyone - as it's a great location in the east for functions!
