Outstanding service, very clean and cozy rooms! We stayed here a while back and only just got around to leaving a review. We were in Sydney for the Taylor Swift concert, despite being fully booked out that month the staff has made an immense effort to have our room ready 1 hour prior to check in. We really appreciated it! Sasha and another gentleman at the front desk were kind and very helpful with earlier check in, bags, where we could catch a train etc. The staff helped us store our bags prior to check in and also when we checked out before our later flight. When we arrived to our rooms our bags were already brought up there, which was very attentive! Rooms were very clean, beds were soft and pillows were perfect too. Our room had a glass bathroom (the glass is frosted so not see through), that was absolutely fine with us (but a heads up for others, do check your booking if it’s not your cup of tea). The hotel is also easy walking distance to the train station. Definitely recommend, thank you for the lovely stay and we will be back in the future!

My colleague and I, both working for a not-for-profit charity, booked two suites for four nights each. Prior to booking, we made several calls to ensure the rooms could accommodate joint meetings with the ability to plug in laptops and sit side by side. We were assured this was possible with an upgrade to a suite, we upgraded. However, upon arrival, we discovered the rooms were completely unsuitable. The only space where we could both sit for meetings was a low coffee table and couch with no available power outlets, forcing us to perch laptops on books. The hotel offered an alternative of paying an additional $200 per night or using the café after breakfast service. After multiple complaints, we had to drape an extension cord and power board across the bed to make do at the coffee table, which was only feasible for one day. We eventually had to incur the additional cost of hiring a nearby meeting room as the hotel’s meeting room was unavailable. Unfortunately, we were too busy to switch hotels so we managed with hiring an additional meeting room. Our complaints were met with indifference, and we were told there would be a discussion at checkout. However, when checking out to catch a flight, no one with authority was available. The customer service was absolutely abhorrent—expensive, inflexible, and disinterested. The only employee who made an effort to assist was the man who laid the extension cord and power board across the bed. Would not recommend if you are travelling for business or wish to be heard.

We had a great time; everything was perfect! I loved the room and the location of the hotel. But what really made our stay memorable was the customer service! We wanted to express our gratitude to Juan; he really went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We really appreciate him sorting out the bikes for us and adding an extra blanket to the room. He just made it all work so we could truly relax and enjoy our stay. Thank you very much!

The location was great. However the standard of room for the price point was poor. The was no ventilation and the interior needs updating in places. The AC was insufficient. Our room was missed for cleaning. Stagg only decided to make it up after we called reception and specifically requested them to do so THREE times. We left the room twice to accommodate the room being made up. We were then sent clearly overworked staff and it became apparent during out stay that this is because the management is lacklustre. There was no apology from reception staff after the third time. This is rude and inconsiderate towards paying guests. It is a shame as the hotel has such potential, but the level of service for the price of a world standard place was lacking Needs attention to detail and better management overall. Not what you expect from 5 star. Poor.

Stay here regularly. One of Sydney’s best hotels. A unique experience very different to every other hotel in Sydney. Beautiful high ceilings, wooden floors and an aura you don’t get anywhere else. Staff always accomodating and always providing room changes or help when necessary. They also give us complimentary drink cards and write us postcards when we return. It’s the little things that count.
