I stayed at this hotel over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I am an Accor+ Platinum member. My room was very spacious including the bathroom. Afternoon canapés and morning breakfast were excellent. The breakfast spread wasn't large but it had all the breaky essentials, and were of high quality including fresh barista coffee. Service was super friendly from the check-in reception, room service to dining. The hotel is conveniently located with plenty of cafes and restaurants in close vicinity.
Check in & luggage assistance was amazing. Especially from Makenzie and Brendan. Being a wheelchair user, as soon as they saw me they went above board to assist me. 5 out of 5 stars. The only complaints I have is with the size of the room. it was not very accommodating for a wheelchair and a hoist and the extra stretcher bed I needed for my support worker because, the main bed did not split into two single beds. we had to rearrange all the furniture just to make room for it to work. You need to have a accessible room with two single beds, for those of us who bring support workers and can't share with the one bed. The bathroom was awesome. Also need to mention the restaurant and bar are not accessible by wheelchair without the use of a plastic foldable ramp. that has no edges on it. It is a little dangerous to drive up and down. Even though the staff were more than happy to assist with me using it. A new one would be better or something permanent in future plans. Thanks.
I really wanted to give a better rating, but I just can't. The very first impression at the lounge wasn't that good, it doesn't strike me as a 5 star hotel chain, as expected from the Pullman franchise. In addition, the room design is very dated. With the faucet having individual taps for hot and cold water. Sound proofing wasn't the best as well. We can easily hear people opening and closing their doors. We can also hear activities from guests in our adjacent rooms. This is just very poor room sound proofing. The beds are very soft, I often wake up being curled up in bed. Perhaps this is just my personal preference to be able to lie flat on a bed. Location wise, not the very best as there aren't much shops nearby. If you're looking for a busier street to stay in, this isn't it.
I wanted to love this hotel as the room was fantastic, the welcome at the lobby warm even if a little awkward. But the hotel was frustrating in many ways. One person on the lobby the next day when I needed a replacement key. Had to wait ten minutes. Only one of three lifts working, another ten minutes waiting. Late leaving. Spa under renovation. Gym a mess and poorly set up. No cash accepted anywhere which pissed me off too. There’s got to be better hotels than this.
I had previously stayed in 2024 at the Pullman and at the time the experience had been average, the staff at those times had seemed scattered and inexperienced. We returned to give the hotel another chance this year compared to our usual Sydney haunts and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were wonderful and welcoming, check in was a breeze with no lines and we were in our room within 5 minutes. There has been some varying reviews about long delays waiting for the lifts while they are refurbished however we did not experience any extensive delays and two of the three lifts were operational and quick. Breakfast was improved from our last visit, great buffet selection and replenished frequently while we were there. Beds are very comfortable and room was very clean. Not a fan of the shower over bath situation and there were some difficulties in making the shower head work rather than the bath tap but we got it sorted. Lighting could be better in the bathrooms, its a dull yellow light and not ideal for doing makeup. Love the view over Hyde Park and from the rooftop pool. Could do with cleaning the cobwebs off the glass fence on the rooftop though.
