•Staying true to its name, Work in Progress unveils its next incarnation. Work in Progress @ Eric Koh is a pop-up dumpling bar in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Inspired by the late-night supper spots he enjoys with fellow chefs, Eric designed a short, snappy menu of Asian fried and steamed dumplings. Work in Progress is an ideal venue for your next birthday party or private celebration and is available for exclusive hire from Monday to Saturday. It is also a great place for hanging out for after-work drinks or casual catch-up with friends. With street art and DJs playing every Friday, the laid-back atmosphere ticks every box.
A dim sum pop-up led by revered dumpling master Eric Koh, of Mr. Wong and Queen Chow, this space is a great casual option for your next celebration. The walls feature bright artworks that complement the food offering in this vibrant space....
More of a 3.5 rating? It was a good restaurant bar with a nice retro vibe? Nothing too special though. You can find more selection and better prices at an actual yumcha place that’s why there’s a mid rating. Although I guess if you’re craving yumcha at a late hour this might be your only option 🫠
Went in for lunch and got a selection of dishes including haw gow, pork buns, numbing chicken, fried rice, prawn toast etc. Food was ok and flavours werent too bad at all, pretty much comparable to food found at any other Chinese / yum cha restaurant (only difference was the steep prices and attitude of one of the servers…. the one wearing glasses). The food was actually quite expensive for what was served in my opinion. You could go to literally anywhere in Chinatown, Burwood, Bankstown, Cabramatta, Canley Vale etc for a comparable if not better overall feed and experience. This place will get my 3 as the food was ok, but overall it did not impress me in the slightest.
Absolutely loved my experience at Work in Progress! The variety of dumplings is impressive, each bursting with unique flavours. Cozy ambience and friendly staff make it a go-to spot for dumpling enthusiasts. Can't wait to go back for another dumpling feast!
The atmosphere was nice but the dumplings were expensive.
Great vegan options. Love how everyone was really mindful of our dietaries. Offering mushroom instead of oyster sauce and vegan mayo. Super tasty. And Lil our waitress was high vibe. Would love a couple of extra vegan options on the menu… something soupy would go down well with all the battered options. Will be back!
