We were fortunate to attend the Newmarket Hotel for our Christmas lunch meal, and it was absolutely wonderful! The tables were beautifully presented, and the named place cards were such a thoughtful and helpful touch. The food was exceptional. The turkey was cooked to perfection (a personal favorite!), and my husband was especially impressed with the seafood selection, particularly the oysters. Everything was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. A huge thank you to the chef and all the staff who worked so hard to make the day special. It was a memorable experience, and we fully intend to rebook for next year. Highly recommend!

Have recently visited X 2 occasions and was prepared to ignore the issues after the first visit but then experienced the same. I booked for a party of 10, our meals arrived at varying times some even 45 minutes later. The staff were very polite but definitely over worked therefore a poor service rating. A wrong drink was served and it took approx 15 minutes for a replacement. Difficult to order another drink and deserts (staff very busy) The desert was very poorly presented (broken biscuits around the plate) Don't normally complain but hope the issues can be addressed and feel sorry for the wait staff trying their best

We had a disappointing experience at Newmarket Hotel. The table we were seated at was sticky and clearly not cleaned properly—we had to call someone to clean it for us. The Guinness was overpriced, and the dish with prawns had barely any prawns but was overloaded with salad. The side of grilled chicken had a strange bitter aftertaste that made it almost inedible. To compound matters, my partner is experiencing diarrhea from what he has eaten yesterday. Also, the poke bowl included hot pumpkin and rice mixed into the green salad, which made the fresh salad soggy and unpleasant to eat. We spoke to one of the waiting staff about these issues, and while she said she would pass on our complaint, nothing was done to address it. We ended up eating less than 20% of the food we ordered because of the poor quality, especially the chicken's bitter aftertaste. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. It's a shame that such a beautifully designed pub does not match its appearance with the quality of its food or cleanliness.

Waited 30 mins and got starters followed 2 mins later by mains! 3 steaks came. We chased for the rest. 10 mins later a fish meal arrived. Then when I chased for the remaining main they asked me what it was. Over one hour since arriving and no main ND having to chase. Management needs to take a look. Never used to he so bad here. Until improved I would not suggest coming here unless you are very patient. Fish meal had a salad which consisted of hot and cold items which was confusing to taste buds and really did not work at all. See picture. However the steaks were good

Good job on the renovation. We go to this hotel regularly for a family dinner on Sunday night. The food is still good but the menu change has removed many of the things we love like chicken wings and salt and pepper calamari Why change the menu. Couldn’t even get a bowl of chips last week
