Stayed here overnight. Was beautiful, the cleanest hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Close to the lovely Roma parkland and not far from the hub of activities. We stayed in room 314 which was lovely and spacious. It was next to the elevator but not a sound could be heard. At the moment there is construction next door but being a Saturday they were not working. Restaurant was lovely food was very good. Highly recommend a stay here
I recently stayed at the Mercure Hotel Spring Hill Brisbane, taking advantage of a Red Hot Room deal offered through my Accor Platinum membership. Regrettably, this experience turned out to be incredibly disappointing and stressful for both my wife and me. Due to severe weather delays, my flight into Sydney was two hours late, causing me to miss my Qantas connection to Brisbane. This led to an exhausting day of rebookings and cancellations—11 in total—including a couple of reschedules the following day. The situation was compounded by the fear of missing my own 60th birthday party cruise with our group of 14, leaving me utterly stressed and fatigued. Amid this chaos, I emailed the hotel requesting that my wife be allowed to check in ahead of me. The staff initially agreed, but when my wife arrived, she was treated in an appallingly unkind manner. She was made to feel like a criminal and unwelcome, and the receptionist condescendingly warned her that I would be charged the full rate of the day if I didn’t show up. Despite her explaining the situation, the receptionist displayed no empathy, remaining dismissive and arrogant. To make matters worse, I received an email from the same receptionist reiterating this warning. In my stressed state, I regrettably responded, "You do not need to threaten me," attaching my final boarding pass to confirm my imminent arrival. In hindsight, I wish I had ignored the email, but the tone was unnecessary and added to my frustrations. I eventually arrived at the hotel at 9:02 PM, only to be told that the bar had closed at 9:00 PM—“bad luck.” After the harrowing travel ordeal, this was the final straw in a day marked by unkindness. The following morning, breakfast was no better. Hot items were poorly maintained, with empty serving plates and dry, rock-like potato gems. For a property operating under the Mercure brand, this was entirely unacceptable. The room itself was fine but not without quirks. For example, the toilet seat lid folding into your back was uncomfortable and felt unhygienic. Overall, this was a once-only stay for us. While I rarely write reviews, I feel compelled to highlight this experience in the hope it prompts the property to reflect on their hospitality standards, improve customer empathy, and communicate more effectively with guests. A simple phone call to clarify concerns would have been far more professional than the dismissive and unkind treatment we received. I truly hope this feedback serves as a wake-up call for management
Great balcony view of Roma street gardens and sunset over mountains. Ian at reception was wonderful. It was my husbands birthday so was a bottle of red wine waiting for us in our room. Bed was very comfortable.
Had a great time. The staff upgraded us and gave us a few goodies for our special occasion. Great view of Brisbane City. The rooms could be cleaned better, my partner does housekeeping and she commented on a number of things which I usually would have missed. Also the room service and kitchen weren't available a number of times we tried to use them.
Good value for money, clean room, and great location. The customer service was excellent. I arrived in Brisbane very early after a long flight and was able to check in earlier than expected, which I really appreciated. Very satisfied with my stay. Highly recommended!👍
