I didn't know what to expect from Mercure Brisbane Spring Hill. My check in experience was somewhat not helpful. When I ask about onsite parking I was told that it will cost $25 or you can try find a street parking. The same receptionist told me that info and when I arrived I told the same person what I had found free loading zone parking right at the front. He says yes I know about that car park. My question is that should be share to help new hotel guest. They can then make their own choice. I then found a big cockroach in the room which I kill it. I when to reception and ask for compensation was told we can do free breakfast which I am satisfied but I was given a whole bunch of reason why it happen. I try to be actually empathetic of the staff but I don't really feel great as I would think should be more apologetic. Then when I got to the room and try to use the T-Cast, the QR code does not work. Then I search download from playstore find the app myself but can't log into PTV network. So go to reception again ask how it works for getting the password for the PTV was told not many hotel guest don't use casting so will need to wait for the morning to ask the tech team for this password. I then ask to borrow a HDMI cord the to use my laptop to connect instead. I was nap a $25 holding deposit for something should have been a complimentary service as part of the stay as cast not working. In the morning when I check out, I told the staff to take out the holding deposit for the HDMI cord but instead I got charged. I went back in asking about this error, I was told again a reason that the staff may have press the wrong button, we will revert that back to you. This is agian no sorry to me from the staff part. The main point I really are trying to make here: No one is very understanding or apologetic about when things are not right for the customer. They give reasons or excuses for what has happen and fail to address the problem with the error or the services in empathy to the customer. In this case, this all came from the hotel itself. This is not a great experience when staff behaviour are the same across the board. I am spending my own time writing this feedback in hope to help your hotel. I am not here to be a serial complainer. The amazing room itself, the requested late check out and the compensation breakfast are good finishing touch for my trip. So in the end I do appreciate these gesture from the hotel. I also do love the location in front of the park and on the hill. I hope to return next trip to your hotel again.
Room was very tidy and clean,as was the bathroom. Plenty of pillows. View wasn't bad. Would recommend for the price. Paid parking is debatable. Staff were very friendly and helpful and very close to the cbd and shops. I initially gave it 4 stars but dont want to drag it down because.. it was a nice stay.
Spent 4 nights here. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and very quiet, which I appreciated. The pool was great, well kept. Restaurant has a nice relaxing atmosphere. Hotel is located at the top portion of Spring Hill. I didn't have any issues walking up there, as I felt after eating dinner, I wanted to burn it off. Thanks!
Room was nice and comfortable. Convenience of downstairs restaurant - don't have to leave the hotel! Downfall - The car park is a nightmare. Worst anxiety in and out of there. But I was warned by the front desk. Buffet breakfast a bit pricey when you just want something on the go. Overall, service was great!
The hotel has a great location, the room was clean, and the included breakfast was good, especially the freshly ground coffee. However, there was a front desk staff member with an Asian appearance named Scarlett whose unfriendly attitude really ruined my mood for the entire day. Also, the lighting in my room wasn't ideal—the lights were installed on the side wall instead of the ceiling, which made the room feel quite dark. BTW, There is no free parking here.
