Great location and if booking well in advance, actually a really great value. The rooms are very comfortable. The downside is it's a 'slow' hotel. Six lifts, you'll be waiting for the only one that ever comes, it became a running joke between guests waiting. And the check in process, despite using "express check-in" still took far more paperwork and handing over of credit cards and ID than at any other hotel I have stayed at, some far cheaper, some far pricier. If you need a good night sleep and a 4am start, the architect's choice of a large central atrium with bar and restaurant will make your preference for a room higher up easy and worth the expense.
Had such a great stay here! We were able to check in earlier than expected as well as being upgraded to room with an amazing view. Kunga at the reception desk was so lovely and very helpful. The hotel is also a great location. Breakfast was delicious and with a great view. The whole experience was fabulous and all the staff are very hospitable. Thank you so much, we will be back.
The service was exceptional. The staff make eye contact and smile. We were offered help by each staff member that saw us. The room service staff have a manner that exudes warmth and welcome. #35 a menu that looks, tastes and is delivered perfectly. The view on the mcg side was magnificent Melbourne at it's finest. Right next to parks to walk through after watching balloons sail over a sunrise sky. - only thing was the room was a little warm at night sorry.
Check-in was lovely, thanks to Mia at the Club Lounge. I had booked a Junior Suite, but was pleasantly upgraded to the Prestige Suite—thank you, Mia! The room is stunning—immaculately clean, spacious, and with a wonderful view. The staff at the Club Lounge were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. Special thanks to Mia, Marta, and Derek for taking such great care of us. We also received excellent service from the concierge, whose name I believe was Goodfellow. He assisted us with our luggage as we were heading to the Club Lounge. The route involved many stairs, making it difficult with luggage, but he was genuinely attentive to our needs. Thank you for your outstanding service. My partner and I will definitely return to stay here whenever we’re back in Melbourne.
We checked in to the hotel for 1 night. The check in process was seamless and the woman on the front desk was very proficient and courteous. Valet parking went without a hitch. Our room on level 46 had terrific views over the river and bay. Our only criticism was that the bathroom was a little dated. There was a shower over the bath and the tiles and fixtures were somewhat outdated. Still functionable but not quite what I'd expect from a 5-star hotel. I still give the hotel a good rating as the overall experience was very good.
