Stayed at the Mercure Hotel Doncaster and had a fantastic experience! The accommodation was excellent — clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The facilities were spotless, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. The only minor downside was that the pool could have been a little warmer, especially for this time of year. But overall, we were really impressed and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great stay in Doncaster. Would definitely return!
Staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was clean and comfortable, even without the Accor upgrade. The pool was a nice surprise — warm enough for a winter swim. Unfortunately, breakfast was disappointing: limited choices, food not hot, and a chaotic dining atmosphere. Not the expecting end of the stay.
The Mercure Doncaster really exceeded all my expectations. When traveling to Melbourne, I will always stay here. Staff are exceptional, well presented and highly professional. The rooms are huge, well appointed and quite lovely to stay in and the bathrooms, they are just gosh darn beautiful to say the least. Beds are comfortable with a good assortment of pillows. PROS: ✅ Exceptionally Friendly & Professional Staff ✅ Large rooms. ✅ Hot Showers with good pressure. ✅ Amazingly Comfortable Beds. ✅ Blackout Curtains. ✅ Plentiful, High Clearance Parking. ✅ Loads of easily accessible Power Outlets in rooms for charging. ✅ Located right next to a massive shopping center with a vast amount of dining choices only a seconds walk away. CONS: ❌ Room to Room sound proofing isn't amazing, if you have noisy neighbors next door you do hear them. NOTABLE: Breakfast is amazing at the hotel, but recommend you don't come down right as they open in the morning as I've found they are a little disorganised every day. Would highly recommend you get a stay with parking & breakfast included if you want to save a heap of money.
We recently visited Mercure Melbourne Doncaster to try their Winter Igloo Experience for a friend’s birthday, and it was such a unique and cozy way to celebrate. The igloo itself was beautifully set up with heating and soft lighting, making it warm and comfortable even in the cold weather, and the atmosphere felt private and special. The mulled wine was just right—fragrant, balanced, and perfect for the season—and the service was friendly and attentive enough to make us feel looked after. That said, the menu could definitely be improved, as the selection was quite limited and the food quality was hit and miss. The french fries arrived soggy, and the cauliflower dish was bland with little seasoning, which was disappointing given the otherwise premium feel of the experience. The standout dish for us was the chicken bao buns, which were fresh, flavourful, and easily the highlight of the meal. Overall, the ambience and drinks made it memorable, but a more varied and refined menu would take it from good to great.
The rooms are nice and comfortable. Comfy bed and good showers. The hotel seems to be under staffed though. Also the food was not great. Particularly the steak which was well over but took so long that I didn’t bother asking for another.
