I came to The Bank to celebrate a birthday, with two others, and I can say that all 3 of us had a very positive experience with the food, the service provided and the atmosphere of the restaurant. We had ordered from the Early Bird Dinner menu, available on weekdays between 2 P.M. and 6 P.M. which provided us with delectable food for very reasonable prices, all for $32. Overall, the food was great, though the skin on the Crispy Pork Belly was quite tough. The service was quite good too with no major complaints while being polite and attentive to us. The atmosphere was quite cozy, and I find the location of the restaurant, as well as its history to be very interesting.
Came to The Bank on Collins at St Valentines day and the main dining area was fully booked so we sat at the table in the bar area. The full menu was available and we ordered drinks and meals with the bartender. This is a unique venue, very spacious and open. I didn’t know what to expect for the quality of the food on a such a busy night, but we received two absolutely delicious mains which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was fresh, clean and cooked with knowledge. We were not celebrating, but it made the night extra special and memorable. Thank you team.
We were excited to try this restaurant because we were attracted by the decoration—it looked like a scene from a movie. Unfortunately, I ordered my steak medium rare, but the first one I got was overcooked, tasted like medium well and even well done. 😕 My second steak was fine, but the texture was tougher than expected, so I had to cut it into small pieces to make it easier to eat. The waiter apologized for the first steak and offered me some chips, but after 20 minutes, I still hadn’t received them. I felt embarrassed if I go to ask, “Where are the chips you offered?” so I didn’t do it. On the bright side, the seafood linguine was great! We’d definitely come back again just for that dish.
Got the $35 Monday Steak Night. Value for money! Comes with a glass of house wine. Steak was good with couple parts that’s hard to chew. Fries was a winner. Service wasn’t good. Unfriendly and seems like they wanted to go home.
Highly recommend! The affordability of the meals attracted me originally, however we left raving about the food, the ambience and the original architecture of the old bank. 10/10 experience and food. *slow cooked beef cheek 🤤
