Came here for breakfast on a cool winter’s morning, after having a quick look at their menu online. I was sure I was having the ricotta and blueberry hotcake, but when I got here and looked at the menu properly, I decided on the avocado and poached egg on a pretzel. Coupled with a coffee, I had the most satisfying and delicious breakfast! Located right across the road from Southern Cross Station, it would make the perfect stop after arriving in Melbourne. It is an old power station type building and you would expect it to be a bit cold inside, but no. It was cosy without being hot. I hope you enjoy your meal here as much as I did.

Nice restaurant that I was highly anticipating but it fell a little short. The restaurant itself is simply stunning, would make for an incredible venue for a special event. Coffee was exceptional, but service felt a little cold, forced, and the hotcakes were drowned in maple syrup making it just far too sweet for me to enjoy. It’s on the pricier side, $30 for ricotta hotcakes is definitely a little steep. I rate it well for a casual solo meal however, they have fantastic bench seating that overlooks the restaurant.

Ordered Iced mocha, hot cake and spanner crab pastry (sorry forgot its official name). The hot cake is in one whole thick layer, which is a bit dry, not fluffy as hot cake should be. Rather it tastes more like a sponge cake. The nuts on top worsen the texture of hot cake and not pleasant to eat as a whole. The spanner crab one is amazing. The sauce is well seasoned, smooth and complimenting the crab meat. Though the coffee place is spacious with high ceiling, air was stuffy with strong oily kitchen smell, my hair and clothes soaked it all up and which is a no no to start my day like this. Sofa on the 2nd floor are wear & tear, my seat sinks with no support at all. Guess they needa improve the ventilation of the premises. Staff are nice and friendly.

Located near the southern cross in the Spencer street, just opposite to Spencer street centre. This place is a very good brunch spot that is set up in a renovated power station The slow roasted pork had a crackling layer on the top from a slow roasted fat on the pork belly! And the crab 🦀 Benedict is must try … enjoy the ambience as well as the exquisite dishes. Book the table before you arrive there, otherwise their might be a long waiting time. There is a chemist warehouse just opposite to this cafe (just in case if there is plans for 🛍️ after a good meal)

I had the ricotta hotcakes. Hotcake is pretty thick, huge and heavy on the palate if you are having one pancake to yourself. Ricotta tastes pretty mild and light on the palate! This pairs really well with the maple-syrup-drenched-pancake! Cafe is huge and pretty aesthetic but it always has long queue, and I’ll need to make a reservation in advance in order to avoid waiting for a table!
