This cafe became so popular because of Instagram popularity but it doesn’t reflect their food. Overall atmosphere is alright. Food was nice presentation. We ordered pancake and chili omelet. Bread was super hard to cut. Pancake was nice soft but nothing special. We asked pancake syrup on the side instead of poured after read many comments about too Sweet feed back. Staff was very friendly.
Delicious! We had their signature egg and crab benedict, cheese burger and pork katsu. All were great, especially the benedict. The combo of salty crab with the slightly sweet pastry is delicious. The only thing stopping this from being a 5 star review is the facilities are a little tired and in need of care. Staff were lovely.
Had high expectations for Higher Ground after hearing so many good reviews, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to the hype. Food: The food was delicious, though definitely on the pricey side for what you get. I really enjoyed the avocado pretzel (which was more of a bagel ). It was super flavorful, and the added halloumi was a great touch—packed with flavour. The chilli scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly—fluffy and flavorful. However, the iced chocolate was a letdown—it tasted like watered-down instant mix, lacking any creaminess or richness. I ordered a mocha expecting a warm coffee in a mug, but was served an iced mocha instead. When I pointed it out, the staff didn’t seem interested in correcting the mistake, which was frustrating. Service & Seating: Service was disorganised and inattentive. Despite requesting a table with a view of the plants in the online reservation, this wasn’t honoured. The seating setup was awkward—tables and chairs felt oddly placed. The sofa was too low for the table, making it very uncomfortable. Chairs were noisy, and both seats and floors were dirty. Atmosphere: The vibe felt off—it was too crowded, too hot, and lacked proper air conditioning. Definitely didn’t feel like the relaxing brunch spot it’s hyped up to be. Overall: Underwhelming experience. Good food, but everything else—from the service to the atmosphere—really let it down. I would come back for the food but customer service needs major improvements including cleaning sofa and floors.
Higher Ground offers a beautiful ambience with its unique design and high ceilings, giving the space an airy and elegant feel. The interior is well thought out, making it a great place to sit back and enjoy a meal. The food here is pretty good and tasty. One of the highlights for me was the Eggs Benedict, which had perfectly poached eggs with a rich, velvety hollandaise sauce. The sourdough toast was crispy, adding a nice contrast to the creamy eggs. Other dishes on the menu were also well-executed, making it a worthwhile spot for brunch or a relaxing meal. Overall, it’s a great place for both the food and the experience, and I’d definitely visit again.
It was a bit on the expensive side for breakfast (hence 4 stars), but it was really good. The egg was poached to perfection and there was a heaping stack of avocado. The fried halloumi was crispy and delicious. It was too much for for this one person and could easily have been shared. The wait staff were friendly and unobtrusively attentive.
