Review for Higher Ground Cafe The half-hour wait to get in was worth it for the experience. While the menu options are limited, the dishes are unique and creatively presented, showcasing a thoughtful approach to food. The coffee was decent. The cafe’s heritage rustic style building adds a lot of charm, which I personally loved. However, the loud music detracts from the ambiance, making it less ideal for a relaxed catch-up. Overall, a good spot for a special outing if you’re willing to wait, but perhaps not for quiet conversations. And make sure you book in advance!
Higher Ground is a beautifully designed, aesthetic café that makes a great first impression. The ambiance is trendy and inviting, with a lot of attention to detail in the interior. The food presentation is excellent – everything looks picture-perfect and well thought out. However, while the dishes look amazing, the taste was just average in my opinion. As a vegetarian, I found there were only a few options on the menu, and they didn’t really wow me. That said, the service was fantastic. The staff were attentive, friendly, and really added to the experience. Overall, it's a lovely place to visit for the vibe and presentation, but the food, especially for vegetarians, could be a bit more exciting.
Service is good, food is fast. Place is super crowded and ambience feels abit like a warehouse. Music is loud so it's not a place to go if you want quiet. They do a really good scrambled eggs on toast.
Great brunch place with fantastic coffee! Went there on a Monday morning, and it was very busy. Reservations are recommended and easy to do directly online. We managed to book a reservation with only 30 minutes notice. I ordered the avocado pretzel, but sadly, they were out of pretzels. The sourdough replacement was very good, however, the avo could have been seasoned a bit more for my taste. The haloumi side with honey was a fantastic addition and tasted great. The highlight was the barista breakfast with a selection of 3 different coffees. The atmosphere of this industrial modern complex was lovely, even with the birds flying around the hall. Would recommend this place to any and all people :)
Great coffee and good service! 2024 August - We had a booking for breakfast at 8 am and by the time we ordered food, they had already run out of pretzels for one dish and crab for the Benedict dish. The coffee plate took more than 30 minutes to arrive at the table after ordering. The staff who looked after our table was very friendly but they are under staff and they are running around trying to do more than what they can.
