My partner and I came here to celebrate the one year anniversary of our first meeting - and also as a romantic location for me to propose to him. I chose the precinct passport package and we were very surprised by our complimentary room upgrade. We were placed in the newest part of the hotel (built 2000, I think). The room was very clean and well maintained and showing its age very slightly. Upon check-in and throughout our stay, the desk staff were very polite and professional (and seemed to enjoy being there). Our package also included a spa treatment - this too was fantastic with great customer service. The staff at the complementary breakfast too were professional and friendly. The breakfast itself was of a good standard and regularly refreshed by the kitchen staff. The front of house staff ensured an orderly flow of diners and maintained high standards of cleanliness. We ate at Joseph's on our second night. I found the food good, although my partner (a chef) was not happy with the presentation or quality of my meal (the steak). For me, the only areas that needed attention were in the pool area which was clean, but in need of cosmetic repairs. I highly recommend the passport package for those wishing to spend a relaxing (and romantic) weekend here. You have an included lunch at the winery (fantastic food and wine), entry to the Chirnside Mansion, a spa treatment, and entry to the Werribee Zoo. Fantastic value all round.
Location was nice and staff were great. But this place isn't set up very well. They're charging 500 dollars a night plus meals and entertainment for a place with grimy showers and small rooms. Reception seemed understaffed as no one was there when we arrived. The pool heater doesn't work and they suffer from power outages. This is a place charging premium prices for Air BNB quality.
Honestly, the location is lovely. The gardens are amazing and there is alot to stroll around and get lost in. There is alot where Lancemore falls short. Calling Joseph's "fine dining" is disingenuous. The store bought tirimisu for desert and upscale pub food menu is not only short on flavour but grossly overpriced. The rooms are quite a letdown, walking into a mansion, you don't expect to see a 1 piece stainless steel kitchen top as your whole bathroom basin/storage. It was quite .... Clinical. Really, it's quite a bit of fun exploring around the grounds and playing some snooker in the mansion. A great escape from reality. Sadly the owners also have escaped reality with their pricing and understanding of what fine dining actually is. Then they ran out of power... -1
I stayed for an evening at the hotel as a part of the indulgence package. For such an exorbitant price tag you would think that the state of the room would be nothing short of exceptional. Instead, my partner and I were incredibly shocked and underwhelmed by the state of the furniture and lack of cleanliness of the room. Every single piece of furniture was chipped and damaged. According to reception we were 'upgraded' as part of the package to a 'superior' room, superior to what I ask?? A mud brick hut?? The pictures speak for themselves. It's a shame because when I tried to seek some means of compensation they told me I could get 15% off a spa treatment or lunch for half-price, hardly an attempt at compensation but a thievish effort to draw even more money! The tone of the manager was arrogant and insensitive, they definitely need to work on their customer service because I can’t think of any guest who would return after dealing with such lacklustre efforts and care. Definitely stay away from this place if you'd like to spoil and surprise your partner!
And again had a great time at the mansion. Special thank you to Jarvis, guest experience manager. This job is definitely his calling. Lovely, chatty, knowledgeable, friendly he goes above and beyond to create fantastic guest experience.
