102 Canterbury Rd, Middle Park VIC 3206, Australia
Pub
•By Rebecca Mery. Immediately upon entering the Middle Park Hotel, one is struck with the mix of old world grandeur of an establishment over 120 years old, with the modern sensibility that comes from a contemporary facelift. It’s elegant without daring to be stuffy, and casual while remaining effortlessly stylish. That, and the classic pub food on offer is to die for. Apart from the location, the interior and the history, the Middle Park Hotel also boasts one of the longest free-standing bars in Australia. That’s forty-five individual taps - count ‘em! As far as function venues go, the public bar is available, comfortably housing twenty to eighty guests for canape-style functions. 21sts, sporting ‘dos, family get-togethers, or casual drinks; it’s all good. In addition to the public bar, the Middle Park Hotel also offers a private dining room for sit-down occasions, or corporate meetings and conferences. The Middle Park Hotel has sat proudly on Canterbury Road since 1889. Gazing upon the Victorian staircases, the bar, and the rooms of the hotel proper, it’s easy to see why it’s stood the test of time. Nestled between Port Phillip Bay, the CBD, Albert Park Lake and St Kilda, it’s also easy to see why it won’t be leaving anytime soon either.

Real disappointment. Food was awful. The table next to me complained about their food too. The cooks (wouldn't call them chefs!) need to be sacked! Absolutely no idea! Middle Park Hotel use to be known for great pub food. Our hospitality industry is in a dire state due to Labor's policies. We need our country back. Vote Labor out! Had a gut full of crap being served at venues. We paid for our meals becaue I told them I wasn't complaining to get a freeby. Just want some good food. Not hard is it?
Middle Park Hotel is an absolute gem, and the vibe here is unmatched. It has that perfect mix of being vibrant and lively, while still feeling incredibly welcoming and relaxed. What really makes the place, though, is the staff. Every single person we encountered was so friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely—they completely elevate the whole experience and make you feel right at home. Can’t wait to come back!
Solo business travel. Note that 5 star rating is for the price range - not a 5 star hotel as such. Pros: Rooms are very clean, although small. Bed very comfortable and quiet place considering there's a pub and restaurant downstairs. Convenient eateries and right across the road from 96 tram. Downstairs pub and restaurant food selection is awesome. Cons: There's no lifts and stairs narrow (original features - well maintained) so not suitable for kids / prams.
Always came here for Thursday steak night. Always served quality chargrilled steak, beautiful house salad with yogurt-ish dressing, shoestring fries coved with herbal salt. Popular beef tartar is also a great option for a light dinner with a cocktail.
I recently visited The Middle Park Hotel to watch the NFL Playoff games on a Sunday & was quite impressed with what they have done with the place as i have not been in a while. The venue looked beautiful, luxurious and the outside beer garden was decked out with good furniture and plenty of umbrellas too. Plenty of TV screens with sound on to watch most sports. Staff were extremely accommodating, especially The Manager, the guy with the dark hair & glasses on, nothing was too hard for him to sort out. One of the other staff members(Tom), was extremely friendly and hospitable & made you feel at home & can hold a decent conversation too🙌🏻 The Sunday Pork Roast was amazing, decent sized portions and yhe crackling was 💯 on point. Only improve needed was maybe a bigger roast veggie size, pumpkin & greens portion was a bit on the small size on everyones plate. Drinks were standard pricing, however i think they need another Mid Strenght tap beer option like Great Northern Super Crisp as the current offering of Stone & Wood Super Crisp is not good at all for a mid strength beer option. They do however have Heineken Zero stubbies which actually taste like beer however at $10 a stubbie it is a bit steep. Apart from the observations, i would 💯 recommend spending a Sunday afternoon at this venue & i will def be back again🙌🏻
