$24 Parma is a great deal. Nice and juicy and a good size. Coleslaw is nicely dressed and chips are freshly salted. They also have live music. Lots of parking in the side streets
First time here with a friend to share a bottle of wine and some appetizers, huge portions made good value overall. Loved the atmosphere and staff here s very friendly
Great old school pub, nice and crispy chicken Parma albeit slightly dry. I felt the chips could have been seasoned a bit more as the little seasoning that was on them tasted delicious. The staff here were awesome. Quick service and great to order via QR code. They had a nice little gas fire in the front room which added to the warm cosy vibes of the place.
We've been locals for many years and have dined at PA's many times. We came in for the weekly pie special, however the lentil pie as advertised on the website was sold out. I found this out by directly asking the staff, as there was no other option on the me&u menu other than a lamb pie. Wasn't a huge issue, my husband ordered the lamb pie which had a very small serving of mash with it, and I got a pizza. We also ordered a Caesar salad, which really lacked flavour in both the dressing and the toppings. The bacon was pre-packed little cubes that tasted very artificial, and the dressing did not have that classic Caesar salad taste but more of a bland 'salad cream' type flavour to it. The leaves were lovely and crisp and fresh, and although the croutons were not the same as what's advertised on the photo in the menu portal, they were still nice. Our food did however take over 30 minutes to arrive. Staff were nice and friendly and we love the atmos of the pub, but the experience with the food was a bit of a let down.
I went to the Alfred on Sunday for a drink with a friend. I was outside in the beer garden and then exited to the side to the smokers area which has an exit straight onto a street. While out there a dad came running out frantically asking if his 5 year old daughter had run out, I said no and he ran back in. I then ran down the road to where the front of the building was to make sure she didn’t run out the front, her mum ran out balling her eyes out also looking for her. I then ran down the street to Tesla alerting everyone to keep an eye out Incase she had got out, but let’s face it if she did the chances wouldn’t have been good. When I get back the parents have found her and are laughing it off like it’s no big deal. Neither the front or the back entrance had a bouncer and the place was PACKED given it being a Sunday afternoon. It ruined my entire afternoon, so I left. As I’m walking to the front door, low and behold she is running towards the front door again and the parents no where to be found. I think you need to SERIOUSLY consider allowing children into a adult venue. Alcohol and children should not be mixed, especially when your patrons seem to care more about getting on the sesh than caring for their child. Other patrons should not have to be impacted because little children are in a venue they shouldn’t be, especially in a beer garden full of adults under the influence of alcohol. A restaurant I understand, but not a beer garden with a door way leading directly onto the street that isn’t monitored. Very very dangerous, especially in the world we live in now….
