Wonderful and friendly, attentive staff. Rooms are well made and looked after. Location is excellent for all your walkable needs. Downstairs bar and restaurant is also very nice. I highly recommend the Ms Ava bar to anyone looking for a small niche bar experience.

Five stars simply because the location is fabulous! The hotel is nice. Beautiful old lobby. Interesting history. Rooms and beds comfortable. Rooms are somewhat small, but mine did have a small table and two chairs. Bathroom is quite cramped with the toilet barely packed in. A large person would have difficulty get into the toilet and pass the toilet to get into the shower. Plenty of towels. A window that looks out to a cement wall. Breakfast is offered and the buffet is decent but nothing to write home about. Room has virtually no hanging closet space and you had to be slender to fit between the bed and the open closet doors. Only 5 coat hangers. Bathroom sink is huge and lovely deep. The hotel has no luggage scale. I have seen the price range for this Hotel anywhere from AU$146/night to $500. I would do it for $200 or less.

We recently got married at Rendezvous Hotel and we had the most incredible weekend! I stayed the night prior along with the bridesmaids in the Tompkins Suite and a second room. And also stayed the night of the wedding. The suite was absolutely beautiful with ornate high ceilings and a beautiful balcony. The Hotel staff were incredibly accommodating, assisting with anything that we needed and letting vendors up to the room. Breakfast was absolutely delicious also. The event staff were amazing to deal with. In the lead up to booking I'd had an absolute nightmare experience with two other venues having double booked me, giving me the run around for weeks and then cancelling on me. But Rendezvous was the complete opposite. Upon first visit I met with Rahal who was an absolute dream to deal with. He was kind, sincere and professional and I really felt as though he personally cared about our day, it was so refreshing. His communication was prompt and thorough, there was no request that couldn't be accommodated. Rahal changed positions in the lead up to the wedding where Laura had become the events manager. I could tell a thorough hand over had been done, a credit to Laura, Rahal and Rendezvous, and I felt I remained in good, caring hands. Laura was extremely helpful in the lead up to the day as well as on the day. She was extremely friendly, thorough and her communication was excellent. On the day she was a great help, ensuring the setup was perfect, assisting with coordinating the walk down the aisle and also vendors. We had our ceremony in the Grand Vestibule, followed by refreshments and canapes at Ms Ava. The Grand Vestibule was beyond my imagination and made for the most incredible photos. The canapes were delicious and all were a massive hit amongst guests. Bar service at Ms Ava was also fantastic as is the setup and decor. The venue as a whole was just beautiful. Everything is so clean and meticulously maintained. All staff were a pleasure to deal with and all made me feel so special all weekend long. We were even greeted by two different staff members on the Sunday morning at breakfast whom both asked how our wedding was. The day exceeded all of our expectations, our guests loved the day and their stay at the hotel and we couldn't be more grateful to Laura and the team at Rendezvous for all of their help, thank you!

Great experience. Great value for money. Thank you to the fantastic staff. Very clean and fresh rooms. The room service guy went above and beyond. Everything wonderful - I will definitely be returning again when I stay in Melbourne.

I've read some of the negative reviews and after staying for a week here our experience was anything but negative. The location, staff and quality of the room were all excellent. We had an Edwardian room and it was old world beautiful! Would definitely stay here again.
