I came to Melbourne for a mix of business and leisure, and a friend recommended Veriu Queen Victoria Market as a great place to stay — and they were absolutely right! Check-in was smooth and easy, and the staff were genuinely friendly and explained everything clearly. My room was spotless and very comfortable, with a large fridge, two-burner stovetop, microwave, toaster, kettle, and even a coffee pod machine. It had everything I needed for a short or extended stay. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, and the bathroom had a huge shower stocked with quality toiletries. I also loved being able to set the air-conditioning to my preferred temperature. The TV included built-in streaming apps, which was a great touch — just remember to sign out when checking out! The location couldn’t be better — right across from Queen Victoria Market and within walking distance of the CBD, Chinatown, Melbourne Central, and plenty of restaurants and cafes. Public transport is right nearby too, with trams and trains easily accessible. Parking is available but on the expensive side at $40 per day/night, so it’s worth pre-booking if you’re driving. If you do have a car, just be aware that parking when checking in can be a little tricky — it was for me as a solo traveller — but I was able to quickly pull into the entry area of the parking section to unload before heading inside. Overall, I had an excellent stay and would definitely book Veriu Queen Victoria Market again next time I’m in the city.
Veriu QVM was a surprise to me. The price was very reasonable, and the quality of the room was excellent. The reception was great and the staff were exceptional, especially Tileisha. The entire stay for 5 days was very pleasant and restful. This is the only hotel that I had stayed where the thermostat actually works. (Believe me, I had stayed in many hotels from 5 stars to 3 stars). When my friends asked about my trip to Melbourne, the first thing I spoke about was how wonderful my stay at Veriu QVM was. That tells you alot about the impression I had about my tour of the city. I truly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Melbourne.
Service was great, rooms themselves and the location is great as well with lots of food options and the markets close by. Free trams also very close by on Elizabeth St. I had to check in late, about 11pm, and had no issues. Only docking a star because of the soundproofing on rooms. I stayed on the first floor right next to an alley and the noise from people below just echoes up and made it hard to sleep. Take earplugs just in case. Overall a very pleasant stay and I would probably stay here again.
Room was great and the staff was friendly. Location is not so great here if you are going to explore the cbd. It is pretty far away and you may need to take the tram or bus which are always crowded. The toilet is quite high for some reasons. Could be just me.
I have stayed here about 5 or 6 times now, it's still one of my favourite places to stay in Melbourne. Super convenient for business travel as the lobby has plenty of spaces to work in with the added benefit of a stocked bar, a very reasonably priced happy hour from 4-6, a fireplace and free sparkling water on tap. The staff are always amazing and friendly, the hotel is well equiped with a gym and stunning pool, outdoor rooftop space, and meeting rooms/common space. Laundry is communal on each level which is really nice as you can put washing on to dry before bed and wake up to fresh clothes in the morning without a dryer making noise in your room. The rooms are spacious, well-equiped with all the kitchen utilities you could need, super comfy beds and very large showers.
