Room was perfect for a aweeknd visit with my daughter. We checked in after 9pm on a Friday night and the staff on front desk were efficient and helpful ( we wanted to know best direction for something to eat at that late stage). The room has space for small luggage bags, ports for recharging beside the twin beds. Not a lot of space between the beds but was ok as spent most of the time out and about. We only had a window facing building beside Brick Lane but it vould be opened for fresh air which suited us. We used the timer on the air con to turn it off as we didnt need it. We didn't get a chance to use microwave, oven or dishwasher but appreciated the full size fridge and a freezer to make up some ice cubes. The pillows were too high for us but receptionist was great in organising a memory foam pillow each. Also, although there was no housekeeping over a weekend, we only had to ring the house keeper line and they quickly brought us fresh towels, face washers and extra pods for the coffee maker. Bathroom was a good size with shampoo, conditioner and body moisturiser and a hair dryer. The sparkling or still water taps and glasses available at reception were great. The location is faultless. Easy access to trams and places to eat. We checked out at usual time but as we didn't have a flight out till 8pm, the hotel looked after our luggage for the day while we went out. We made use of the reception area lounges to recharge phones at the end of that day and to sit inside and eat a quick meal delivered by Uber before heading of to the airport. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Room was well equipped, clean and modern. The downside was the soundproofing. Minimal to no soundproofing; sleep quality was very poor. You can hear people talking, doors shutting and footsteps outside in the hallway. Staff were lovely and polite. Location was convenient. Closest Tram station was in the free tram zone. Queen Victoria market is extremely close and there’s some good food places next to the hotel.

No complaints—affordable, spacious, and clean room! The location is perfect, within walking distance to most attractions. QVB is just right across the street! Plenty of eateries nearby and the area stays lively at night, which made me feel safe. The only small issue was housekeeping—the bin wasn’t cleared. Other than that, everything was perfect!

Great location, clean room, daily housekeeping. Friendly service. There’s a pool but didn’t have time to try. Plenty of food options around, in particular Publique bakery with daily made pastries just a few steps from the reception. And of course Queen Victoria Market. Elizabeth street nearby to catch the trams. Car park connected to the hotel suitable for large cars, $40 per day with multiple entry/exit. Need to park in the street check in and get the swipe card from reception to enter the car park. One way street.

I have been staying at Veriu QVM on 45-50 nights per year since 2023. Until recently, I have had a consistently wonderful experience at this hotel. The rooms were always clean and comfortable. I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve recommended the Veriu QVM to family, friends and business colleagues seeking good quality, clean and dependable accommodation in Melbourne. I own a business at Queen Victoria Market and I live a 2.5 hour drive way. I must stay over in Melbourne on Wednesdays and occasional Thursdays. I don’t have a choice but to stay in a hotel and I book months in advance, directly with the hotel. I have not experienced issues with the Veriu QVM until a recent change in management. Now I’m experiencing issues every week, including flooding in my room, missing cutlery and very shabby towels. Everything but the flooding was fixed by the consistently wonderful team on reception. I arrived on Wednesday 12/03 to be told by very embarrassed reception staff that my room, which had been booked Wednesday night and some Thursdays for 16 weeks in advance, had been cancelled. The staff called the new manager who told them they didn’t have a room. There I was a 2.5 hour drive from home, about to open up for the Night Market which didn’t finish until 10.00 pm and needing to be back at work the next morning to open up at 9.00 am. I got them to ring him back, so that I could speak to him. He told me that he didn’t have a room and that I should try to book another hotel. He really couldn’t have cared less. I explained to him that the Grand Prix was on, so there were NO hotel rooms available in Melbourne (which he knew, because he’d obviously cancelled my reservation to sell my room at a higher rate than my rate for booking 45- 50 nights per year). I explained that, as a 63 years old with a health issue, the main reason that I stay at the Veriu QVM is the safety and security of the short late night walk from my business. His only remedy was to pay for a taxi if I managed to find another hotel. How can such a great hotel, that I consistently rated at 5 stars, decline so quickly, under a new manager, and to such an extent that I’d happily award them no stars whatsoever? This is all so very sad. Instead of making arrangements with the Veriu QVM for my reservations over yet another Night Market season, I find myself checking out which other hotels in the area will better appreciate my 45-50 nights a year of loyal business for years to come.
