Love the Langham. Old school vibe. Comfortable beds and pillows. The buffet breakfast is one of the best in town (in my opinion). So much variety and quality ingredients. Would’ve been nice to get an upgrade or something thrown in (the price is on the high side for rooms). Unfortunately, ‘you get what you get and you don’t get upset’! Housekeeping was on point. Staff super friendly. Location great.
Beautiful old world property, immaculately maintained and tastefully decorated. From the lobby to the rooms, much attention is paid to detail. The dining venue is excellent, offering a nice variety of regional fare. The amenities are also very good: gym, spa, pool, and rooftop deck are outstanding. Ideally situated next to the river, with easy access to restaurants, bars, and sightseeing. Finally, the staff is phenomenal! They are helpful, thoughtful, and very welcoming.
What a special experience to have stayed at The Langham, Melbourne! The entire experience from when you walk in the door to their good bye was wonderful. When you walk in the door you are greeted with friendly smiling faces and beautiful smelling flowers. The staff were all polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable (as expected) and my husband surprise me with a boutique of flowers and they were more than happy to get me a vase to keep them fresh in the room! If you get a chance to book, even just for a night, do it. You won’t be disappointed! I did get one of the pink and gold pens as a memento for our trip away, but unfortunately I think it’s since fallen out of my handbag. If there’s a chance to buy one and have it posted I would be very interested, but I can’t see these online anywhere.
I stayed for a week and it was a work trip. Considering it’s like a 5 star hotel, service is definitely lacking. They are not proactive. Buffet breakfast is fantastic with plenty to choose from. Gym is well equipped and perfect location for your walk or run. They offer a 12pm checkout which can be beneficial. I believe their dinner buffets are excellent with best Indian food however I haven’t tried it .
Melbourne’s Langham offers stunning city & river views & superb amenities. What makes this hotel truly special is the staff. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and no request seems impossible. We enjoyed Club access during our stay, which is far less crowded than other club lounges such as Sofitel. The rooms are bright and well appointed, with sensational afternoon teas & excellent canapés at night. I preferred Melba restaurant downstairs for breakfast as there is more on offer than the Club upstairs, although it gets very busy! We had a corner suite with stunning wraparound views towards the east, taking in the station, cathedral & Fed Square. The bed was superior and the bathroom was enormous! I noticed some water ingress issues in the living room adjacent to the window (peeling wallpaper & an attempt to mask it with double sided tape affixed to the curtain), and a faint mould smell, so perhaps it’s best to request another room if you are offered 2033 and have asthma or mould sensitivity. The windows were very soundproof. Even passing helicopters were hardly noticed. I look forward to another stay at this beautiful hotel, and highly recommend it to visitors and locals alike.
