•QT Canberra — home to Canberra’s most unique and largest hotel conference venues!
Whether you're on the hunt for a private space to sound out a new campaign direction, or an impressive designer space geared to ignite a spending spree in potential supporters, QT Canberra has the perfect space just for you, with eight function rooms and a capacity of up to 1000.
A wide array of conference spaces with the signature QT talents of quirk and creativity to make a strong statement in the form of a memorable function.
Located in the cultural precinct of New Acton, the former Lakeside Hotel property has been home to many a handshake deal and long lunch. The redesigned building was embraced by new technology, distinctive art and cutting-edge design. QT Canberra has extensive experience in delivering exceptional events with the largest hotel function venue in the Canberra region.
The interconnecting configuration of the QT Ballroom Canberra can also be partitioned into three separate function rooms, with the banquet floor also offering five additional rooms providing exceptional facilities for smaller meetings, workshops or breakouts. The pillar-less rooms all offer natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows and neutral tones throughout.
The QT Canberra team will work with you to create a bespoke event, paying meticulous attention to the smallest of details. From arrival drinks and canapés through to marquee hire and outdoor areas, we will work with you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
The property has invested in the best internet capabilities in Canberra, as WiFi becomes essential rather than an option at all events. All delegates are offered free WiFi for their duration in the hotel. All rooms include data projectors and drop screens and interactive digital screening linked from the foyer to the function floor, crossing over all rooms.
QT Canberra’s award-winning concept restaurant Capitol Bar and Grill is a Chicago-style grill with an Italian twist offering a range of fine wine, bistro classics and future favourites, whilst the hotel offers a number of exclusive retreats, secret rooms and guest suites kitted out with designer decor and mod cons.
There is also the added advantage of deluxe accommodation at QT Canberra with its 205 guest suites, which all have balcony views of the city and lakeside, quirky QT Mini bar — crowned "Best Superior Hotel" at the 2017 ACT AHA Awards, and designer decor with all the savvy mod cons delegates need to get the job done — including free WiFi, in-room movies and Nespresso machines.

I want to start by saying I love the QT brand hotels, I’ve stayed and LOVED, Perth, Melbourne & Gold Coast all exceptional and this is the quality you expect when you stay at a QT hotel (they have set this standard themselves). Well except Sadly Canberra. When I exited the lift after work at 6pm I was greeted by 3 sacks of dirty laundry at 1 end of the corridor and at the other end 2 beds on there side (just outside my door). Not what you expect to see at this price point (felt a little motelish) I feel they bought another old hotel in ACT slapped the QT name on it, done some minor works to the rooms and though that the name would carry it….. it may work unless you’ve stayed at other locations and know what you should be getting. Sadly these rooms aren’t in great shape, the shower felt like I needed to wear flip flops as the tiles were discoloured and scummy with water marks all over them (I know it’s a shower but this felt like a public shower) & the water constantly flowing onto the floor out of the shower. The room felt tired and was very obvious needs a major overhaul and nice furniture can’t hide this, I was lucky to have a balcony and fresh air…. But out side the trimmings were is disarray. The door in the bathroom had seen better days and was split and hard to close, the main door hinge was filthy and the trimming on the cabinet had come off leave bare wood, Thea e are the things that would never be seen in a QT hotel. From such an amazing Brand like the QT, this hotel in there portfolio hurts the brand, I’ve stayed here twice recently and first time I didn’t write a review as I thought perhaps I was in a bad mood so I didn’t and thought I would give them another go to try and change my mind. The service from the team was fantastic. I’ve been travelling to canberra a lot and I can say I won’t stay here again. There are certainly newer and better hotels to stay at for this price point.
WOW. I have never seen so many bad reviews for I single hotel. The hotel was built in the early 1970’s. 1974 I think. The hotel seems to have had some kind of cosmetic design revamp with an art deco / past political party theme. It’s the worst I have seen for a long time. The staff serve you breakfast like they’re doing you a favor. The king beds have two small duners/ cosys in them instead of a single king size duner. That’s about as cheap skate as you can get. The entire half of the hotel faces long term road work that start early and loud banging noise all day long. The room decoration is circa 1970’s and heavily dated not in a nice way but looks like a setting to a nightmare gone wrong. The entire hotel is geared for large functions at the expense of anyone else who has the misfortune of staying there. If you want to stay at what looks like a large building site then go for it. Avoid this hotel and try one of the hotels near the old parliament building. Oh. Nearly forgot. The bathrooms are a joke !
Stayed here for work and had amazing drinks at the bar. Isaac at the bar is such a lovely guy and makes amazing drinks! On your next stay, make sure he makes your drink of choice! Will definitely be returning 🤩 Also, Liam was great and made great drinks. Thank you for your professionalism and keep up the good work guys .
What an amazing experience. The price for this place is ridiculous. Should be 3 times more expensive. Staff is amazing. Rooms are pristine, spacious and well appointed. The food is world class. AND free breakfast with a great menu. Do yourself a favor if you're visiting Canberra and stay here.
Sid and Ashima's wedding was absolutely wonderful! The Indian food was some of the best I've ever had, and the staff were fantastic. I was so impressed with QT's ability to host such a beautiful Indian wedding. Karina, the wedding coordinator, was especially charming and made sure everyone was well taken care of. The only minor thing was a bit of a wait at the bar during the reception for coffee, but overall, it was a fantastic experience!
