•QT Canberra — home to Canberra’s most unique and largest hotel conference venues!
Whether you're on the hunt for a private space to sound out a new campaign direction, or an impressive designer space geared to ignite a spending spree in potential supporters, QT Canberra has the perfect space just for you, with eight function rooms and a capacity of up to 1000.
A wide array of conference spaces with the signature QT talents of quirk and creativity to make a strong statement in the form of a memorable function.
Located in the cultural precinct of New Acton, the former Lakeside Hotel property has been home to many a handshake deal and long lunch. The redesigned building was embraced by new technology, distinctive art and cutting-edge design. QT Canberra has extensive experience in delivering exceptional events with the largest hotel function venue in the Canberra region.
The interconnecting configuration of the QT Ballroom Canberra can also be partitioned into three separate function rooms, with the banquet floor also offering five additional rooms providing exceptional facilities for smaller meetings, workshops or breakouts. The pillar-less rooms all offer natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows and neutral tones throughout.
The QT Canberra team will work with you to create a bespoke event, paying meticulous attention to the smallest of details. From arrival drinks and canapés through to marquee hire and outdoor areas, we will work with you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
The property has invested in the best internet capabilities in Canberra, as WiFi becomes essential rather than an option at all events. All delegates are offered free WiFi for their duration in the hotel. All rooms include data projectors and drop screens and interactive digital screening linked from the foyer to the function floor, crossing over all rooms.
QT Canberra’s award-winning concept restaurant Capitol Bar and Grill is a Chicago-style grill with an Italian twist offering a range of fine wine, bistro classics and future favourites, whilst the hotel offers a number of exclusive retreats, secret rooms and guest suites kitted out with designer decor and mod cons.
There is also the added advantage of deluxe accommodation at QT Canberra with its 205 guest suites, which all have balcony views of the city and lakeside, quirky QT Mini bar — crowned "Best Superior Hotel" at the 2017 ACT AHA Awards, and designer decor with all the savvy mod cons delegates need to get the job done — including free WiFi, in-room movies and Nespresso machines.

I can not comment on the hotel itself, this review is just for the extremely underwhelming NYE 2025/26 event. I would give 0/10 for this overhyped party, None of the advertised features were achieved. The whole event has been very embarrassing for the QT brand overall. I don't think (hope) they will do it again next year. Basic points: $199pp Included: - 1 welcome glass of bubbles on arrival - 2 grazing stations with some cheese, bread and olives, empty after 30 minutes, not restocked. -1 main bar with 3 bartenders overwhelmed by probably 200 guests, waiting time +30 min - 2nd Cocktail bar without adequate stock to provide the 3 offered drinks on the menue, choice between Prosecco or sparkling water in cocktail for 90 min. - Canapees infrequently rotating, not as advertised in the food menue and very low quality. Parts of the menue were not available at all. - Entertainment was not possible at all as the bar quey was occupying the dance floor and DJ area as well. - Too many people for venue, no standing tables, guests had to sit on floor to eat. Guests were expecting to enjoy the fireworks somehow but this was only possible as reflections in the windows. Many guest left disappointed within the first 60 minutes, we managed 2hrs somehow, but left for another venue at 10:30 in order to rescue some celebration fun. Summary: - More than underwhelming - Complete rip-off, not worth the money - Disappointing night
Great value for money. The hotel was clean, modern, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is excellent — right in the heart of the city and close to everything. The only downside was that the walls were quite thin, so we could hear people in the next room, and the balcony dividers were small enough that privacy could be an issue. Overall, a great stay with excellent value and a prime central location, and we’d happily stay again.
I want to start by saying I love the QT brand hotels, I’ve stayed and LOVED, Perth, Melbourne & Gold Coast all exceptional and this is the quality you expect when you stay at a QT hotel (they have set this standard themselves). Well except Sadly Canberra. When I exited the lift after work at 6pm I was greeted by 3 sacks of dirty laundry at 1 end of the corridor and at the other end 2 beds on there side (just outside my door). Not what you expect to see at this price point (felt a little motelish) I feel they bought another old hotel in ACT slapped the QT name on it, done some minor works to the rooms and though that the name would carry it….. it may work unless you’ve stayed at other locations and know what you should be getting. Sadly these rooms aren’t in great shape, the shower felt like I needed to wear flip flops as the tiles were discoloured and scummy with water marks all over them (I know it’s a shower but this felt like a public shower) & the water constantly flowing onto the floor out of the shower. The room felt tired and was very obvious needs a major overhaul and nice furniture can’t hide this, I was lucky to have a balcony and fresh air…. But out side the trimmings were is disarray. The door in the bathroom had seen better days and was split and hard to close, the main door hinge was filthy and the trimming on the cabinet had come off leave bare wood, Thea e are the things that would never be seen in a QT hotel. From such an amazing Brand like the QT, this hotel in there portfolio hurts the brand, I’ve stayed here twice recently and first time I didn’t write a review as I thought perhaps I was in a bad mood so I didn’t and thought I would give them another go to try and change my mind. The service from the team was fantastic. I’ve been travelling to canberra a lot and I can say I won’t stay here again. There are certainly newer and better hotels to stay at for this price point.
Well, this place punches above its weight, definitely. The rooms are great and the beds are even better. Possibly the best hotel beds I've ever slept in, soo comfy. I've stayed in hotels in Perth, Melbourne, Newcastle, Launceston and Adelaide and this place rates as either the best bang for buck or in the top two I've ever stayed at. For the price it's really impressive! The staff are wild when it comes to customer service, every question I have thrown their way they handle with impeccable professionalism and in-depth knowledge. I like learning about whiskey, and Isac was able to show me a whole new world of Rum, it was a freakin' journey man. Wow. He launched me off into a whole new world of mixology investigation and experience. I take pride in understanding the technicalities of many things, and daym did he have a lot of wisdom and knowledge to generously share on a new world of Rum. Natalias' accent was brilliant it made me feel like I was staying at a luxury resourt. She made me feel like I was super important and super valued as a guest. I was really impressed with her customer service skills. Similar to Nitu, again I had some hard questions and requests I was a bit sheepish to ask of her. She didn't bat an eye, again in-depth knowledge of everything, and even helped me see the value in joining up with a membership and I usually hate memberships. Would be amazing if free parking became a component of joining up as a member... I'm impressed and will be staying at QT venues as often as possible from now on, the experience from this stay at this venue has made my weekend very memorable, thank-you folks! I haven't experienced such warmth, welcome and professional vibes... I'm going to say ever. I can't speak more highly of the team absolute legends! QT please give them a big pat on the back because the customer service I've experienced has been something that has totally caught me off guard, I'm so stoked with the experience, I even extended my stay because I felt so valued and that I was being treated with such respect. Amazing amazing, amazing, you mob. Great work! Customer delight is getting harder to come by as many corporate cultures squeeze value and margins, but you lot have smashed this one out of the park! Thank-you for the wonderful experience!
What an amazing experience. The price for this place is ridiculous. Should be 3 times more expensive. Staff is amazing. Rooms are pristine, spacious and well appointed. The food is world class. AND free breakfast with a great menu. Do yourself a favor if you're visiting Canberra and stay here.
