We stayed at four different hotels during our Gold Coast trip, and unfortunately this was the most disappointing customer service experience. I booked through Agoda and accidentally selected a Hinterland View room instead of an Ocean View room. After noticing the mistake, I contacted reception and explained the situation. I was advised that changing to an Ocean View room would incur an additional $80 charge, despite Ocean View rooms being advertised at the same rate on Agoda, Booking.com, and the hotel’s own website for the same dates. What made this more frustrating was that the hotel was not close to full occupancy, which was acknowledged by staff. Given the availability, I was hoping for a more customer-focused approach and some flexibility to accommodate a simple room change request. For comparison, we also stayed at Rhapsody Resort for nearly half the price, where we received a better view, superior amenities, and a room that was approximately twice the size. While the property itself has its positives, the lack of flexibility and customer-focused service left a poor impression. Based on our experience, I would recommend that travellers consider alternative accommodation options before booking here. Management could benefit from placing greater emphasis on customer satisfaction and service recovery.

The Sofitel Gold Coast delivers a fantastic stay despite showing its age in places. While the hotel could use a refresh in some areas, the rooms themselves are lovely...comfortable, spacious, and well-appointed with everything you need. The pool area is a real highlight, generously sized and perfect for relaxing in the sunshine. The buffet is excellent, offering a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options that cater to all tastes. What truly sets this hotel apart is the customer service, which is consistently spot on. Staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. A solid choice on the Gold Coast.

We stayed during the school holiday period, so the hotel was understandably busier than usual. The reception staff were very professional and helpful. It’s a kid friendly, we were provided with a coloring set upon arrival. The parking was spacious and convenient, with a number plate recognition system. However, there were some service delays. Breakfast was fresh, but getting a table and coffee took too long due to understaffing. The pool area was spacious but there was noticeable lint on the towels. Housekeeping was also delayed, and we had to request turndown service during our 2 night stay. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, are quite dated and old-fashioned. Overall, the hotel would benefit from additional staff and a significant facility upgrade.

The Sofitel Hotel is ideally located with a stones throw from all Broadbeach action. Despite this, there was no noise and it felt very private in our room. Check in and out was easy and staff were friendly. Our King room was spacious and the bed was huge and very comfy. Room was clean and had all conveniences. Love a good bath robe! The bathroom decor perhaps feels a little dated but great shower pressure and met all needs. The air con needs more power and better in room controls. It was a shame that the TV does not connect to any apps. USB/C power ports would be helpful these days. The gym is very small and not much equipment, although I appreciated the Peloton bike. Unfortunately did not try out the pool but looked lovely.

With the Gold Coast sunset and starry nights as your backdrop, the Pool Deck is the perfect venue for outdoor cocktail receptions, banquets, and wedding ceremonies. Offering bespoke menus, entertainment, and décor, it can accommodate up to 300 guests for a cocktail reception.

The Broadbeach Room, located on level 3 poolside, offers a sophisticated, light-filled space by day and a chic setting for your cocktail party, banquet, or wedding reception by night. With floor-to-ceiling windows, a private bar area, and stunning views of the pool and Gold Coast hinterland, this venue also features a built-in 16:9 projection screen and electronic blinds. It can accommodates up to 200 guests.
Sorrento Room
Located on level 3, the diamond-shaped Sorrento Room offers natural light and panoramic views of Broadbeach. With three built-in 16:9 data projection screens and space for up to 200 guests, it’s the perfect venue for your bespoke conference, banquet, or chic soirée.
Chevron Room
Located on level 2 with direct access to the Oasis Shopping Centre, the Chevron Room offers an ideal setting for intimate presentations, seminars, or private board meetings. Adjacent to the secretariat, it is the only event space on this floor, enabling you exclusive use of the entire level.
