Reviews for Midnight Hotel Canberra

Dear Ingrid, I want to sincerely thank you for the absolutely world-class service and hospitality you provided during my recent stay at Midnight Hotel in Canberra. From the moment I arrived until checkout, you made the entire experience welcoming, seamless, and truly felt like home. As Duty Manager, your professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail stood out in every interaction. You went above and beyond to ensure not just comfort, but a genuine connection—something that makes a stay memorable long after checkout. It’s clear you lead by example and set a standard of excellence for the entire team. This was easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had anywhere in the world. I’ll definitely be returning to Midnight Hotel not just for the incredible atmosphere, but because of leaders like you who make it so special. Please know that your efforts make a real impact and deserve recognition.

We recently stayed at a hotel that left a generally positive impression. The location was fantastic—just about an 800-meter walk to the city center, which made it super convenient for exploring. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, always ready with a smile and eager to explain anything we needed to know. One standout feature was the free mini-bar in the room. Everything in it—the drinks and snacks—was complimentary, which is a rarity in Australian hotels and a really pleasant surprise. It definitely added a nice touch to the stay. The room itself was spotless and well-kept. If I had to point out any downside, it would be the parking situation. The underground parking area had a notably steep slope—around a 30-degree angle or so—meaning you’d need to have some confident driving skills to navigate in and out comfortably. Overall, it was a positive stay with just that minor challenge, and the complimentary amenities definitely made it memorable.

We booked four rooms during our trip to Canberra, and I can confidently say we made the right choice staying at the Midnight Hotel! The service was absolutely fantastic. We had a small issue during check-in when my card was unexpectedly declined, but Daryl from reception was incredibly patient and calm throughout the process. He made us feel welcome from the start, so friendly and composed that we never felt rushed or pressured. Daryl went above and beyond to make sure our stay in Canberra was seamless. His recommendations were spot-on, from great restaurants to shopping centers. He even assisted my grandparents when they got a bit lost in the hotel, which truly showed how caring and attentive he is. This was honestly the first time we’ve experienced such genuine care and a high level of service at any hotel. Because of him, we will definitely stay again in this hotel. 15/10 customer service!!!

I really wanted to like this place but it fell short in a couple of key areas: The paid breakfast is severely limited - you can choose from one main, one side, one drink. What if I wanted to have an orange juice with my tea? That would be $8, thanks. It feels stingy. The gym? So tiny it’s more like an afterthought. The only Exercycle was out of order. The entrance is also weird for a five star hotel. You have to carry your luggage down some stairs or use a long ramp. No porter service. Disappointing. Edit: got a response from the manager, acknowledging all these issues and promising to do better in the future. Now I had to take away another star - all these issues were in the reviews multiple times for at least a year. Not good enough.

Absolutely loved our stay here! The staff were warm and welcoming, the beds were unbelievably comfy, and the complimentary mini bar (restocked daily!) was such a treat. Breakfasts were a total highlight—so tasty! We loved unwinding at the bar with a nightcap, and the pool and sauna were the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The location is spot on—right in the heart of Braddon with heaps of restaurants and bars just a stroll away, and super easy to Uber or drive to all the main sights. Can’t fault a thing!
