We had a great stay. We booked the executive suite and had a sofa bed and a nice bedroom with TV in both rooms. The rooms were clean and service was quite good. Liked the pool area with kid friendly slide and other play areas. The proximity to restaurants was very helpful. They offer Valet parking at 35 dollars / day which is usually quite responsive. Breakfast was good, Barista coffee charge is separate. omelette station was very quick and very well made.

A beautiful place to stay. The room was functional and tidy. We were fortunate to have breakfast included in our stay, which was a delightful buffet. All of the staff were very pleasant and welcoming, accommodating all our needs. Parking is tricky, with valet available for $35 or the parking lot nearby, within walking distance. Super happy with my stay, thank you!

Clean room, beautiful water views with boats going by. Comfortable bed. Valet parking for $35 a night. Plenty of cafes and restaurants within short walking distance. Room decor is slightly dated but our room felt clean, functional and had everything we needed for our stay. Rates were good. We would stay here again.

Rooms are a bit weary but clean enough. Our balcony suite was comfortable for 2 but smaller than the impression I got from the website pictures. Didn't think much of the shower over a rather small bath. It came with a shower curtain that would stick to you and was awkward getting in and out. Most hotels I've stayed at now have separate shower & bath. Staff were excellent though, friendly and helpful regardless of the time of day. The team at Rydges deserve to be congratulated for their performance & attitude. Valet parking was also a bonus and the balcony views of the harbour were interesting. Lots of bulk carriers sailing in and out and a rescue helipad just over the water gave us lots to look at. Even though we were on the 1st floor right above the restaurant/bar, and overlooking the harbour walkway we were not disturbed by noise. Enjoyed a drink on the balcony in the evening watching the world go by. Only ate in once and paid $28 for tempura prawns. When they arrived there were only 4 prawns and they weren't exactly large. The sourdough bread with dips & dukkah was lovely so balanced it out. Overall a very nice place to take a break in Newcastle.

Rydges Newcastle hotel is situated along the hunter river. It’s an easy pace towards the pub and other restaurants around the area. There is also a nice museum around the corner with plenty of exhibits to look at. Or a good long walk towards Nobby’s light house (just check the opening times). The hotel itself is good and my room was well looked after. It’s simple and non complicated. Whenever you attend those long endless meetings, it’s always nice to get in your room and just sit and relax or even go for a quick nap. There is a bar at the ground level and they have all the drinks you need. So, if you are looking for a place to stay, look no further, Rydges Hotel at Newcastle is a good place to stay.
