Reviews for Kimpton Margot Sydney

We stayed for 2 nights, celebrating our anniversary. First impression wasn’t good, we had to wait a long time to be checked in, once we walked into our room we were left speechless; we had been upgraded to a stunning suite. Plus we had been left a bottle of sparkling with a lovely note. Pool area is cute but no one was there to serve us. Breakfast Sunday was a total mess, long queues, very shorted staffed. The poor staff was trying their best but there just wasn’t an adequate number of them. Monday breakfast wasn’t as hectic but there were also less people, In my opinion the breakfast provided is very basic for the price range. Room service was very good. Loved our room but it felt like they were very short on staff. Finally, there was a little nasty surprise left under one of the books in our lounge area.

I stayed at Kimpton for a good 2+ weeks. It’s probably my favorite hotel in Sydney. I love the brand’s concept, love seeing plants and pets everywhere. The hotel is literally in the middle of the city. Town Hall light rail is only a few minutes walk. I went in with 3 biggest suitcases and the staff immediately went in to help me with a smile on his face - I already knew I was gonna book my second week lol. Their room service was amazing, check the tablet in your room to request. I did not have to wait too long for my food. I’m still thinking about that Beef Burger, portion was good and I was so full. They have happy hour for guests to sip and chat. Breakfast comes with a fruit shot. Probably tried all of their breakfast menu, I recommend the avocado toast- it’s the best one. I have nothing to complain, and based on how the staff treated me, all deserve a raise!!!! PS: don’t forget to say the magic phrase to get a surprise!

Staying at the IHG Kimpton Margot Sydney was an absolute delight from start to finish. This hotel is a masterpiece of preservation, beautifully housed in the former Sydney Water Board head office. The art deco design is simply breathtaking; from the grand lobby with its soaring columns and stunning ceiling to the smallest details, it feels like a graceful step back in time. The service was impeccable—warm, personal, and genuinely thoughtful, without ever being overbearing. The complimentary social hour each evening was a lovely touch that created a wonderful, convivial atmosphere. Our room was a spacious and elegant sanctuary, blending historic charm with modern comforts, and the food at Luke's Kitchen was a standout, with stunning, flavorful dishes. We also loved the beautiful rooftop pool, a serene urban oasis perfect for a relaxing dip with a view. In all, the Kimpton Margot is a perfect blend of iconic history and vibrant modern luxury. I cannot recommend it highly enough and will certainly be returning. A truly special hotel.

We stayed only one night at the end of our big Australia vacation to prepare for the long flight home. I used points and wish that I had stayed here for our longer sydney stay earlier in our trip - our room was upgraded to a suite that was very spacious and well appointed. The staff were super friendly and helpful and very flexible where we checked in late and they allowed us to use our credit through my points program even after we checked out as a very appreciated exception. The food at the bar was great and the DJ at Happy hour was awesome. Room was super quiet and dark with the drapes closed.

We had an incredible two-night stay at Kimpton Margot Sydney! The rooms are beautifully designed, and the breakfasts were delicious. Dining at Luke’s Kitchen was a highlight — each dish was thoughtfully crafted, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor, with the Golden Chocolate Bar as a standout finale. We also loved relaxing at the rooftop Harper Bar and enjoying the pool, which added a perfect touch of luxury. The social hour, elegant atmosphere, and attention to detail made the entire stay truly unforgettable.
