The hotel is so elegant and rich in history. First of all, it located in a heritage building. the interior design of it is unique with tons of modernist features as it was the old office building of the Sydney Water. If you’re a big fan of modernist architecture, please do come to have a look. Meanwhile, as it’s an art led project, amenities in the room or the hotel is beautiful and you don’t want to miss them. Secondly, the service is great. The staff is so hospitable and welcoming. They totally love the hotel themselves. Thirdly, the room is spacious and new although it was old office. But the designers managed to keep the modernist features and create a perfect balance. The bed and pillows are comfy. The bathroom is huge with a fabulous tub. Last but not least, the location is very nice as it’s quite close to Hyde Park and the museum station. If you’re a fan of modernist architecture and art, this has to be on your list.

Beautifully modernised antique hotel that allows pets at no extra charge! Service staff were courteous. Pet bed and bowls provided. Bed was comfy - not too hard, not too soft, just nice. The lobby had comfy seats to just sit and chat and let our puppies socialise.

This hotel is set inside the former Water Board building, finished in 1939 in a functionalist art deco style. Fortunately, the renovation as a hotel has been very tastefully done and the most important features have been preserved. Especially impressive in s the lobby, with its columns of red marble and numerous art deco features such as tiles and drinking fountains. The tasteful styling is maintained in the carpets, artwork and signage. Service is also friendly and professional, making this an excellent choice for upmarket travellers.

We were so satisfied with our stay with Kimpton Margot Syd. Really appreciate with the warm welcome from all the staffs from the front desk, luke's kitchen, harper rooftop, and the cleaners. ❤️ everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Will def be back again for another stay in the future. A good friend of mine who used to work here recommended me to stay here (Patrick esangga). (Unsure why ppl who gave 1 star review especially the one with platinum members and expect to get complimentary upgrade or whatever complimentary, what a shame 😆). Anyway, thanks, Matt who checked us in. Thankyou for everything 🙏

I recently stayed at this hotel, which boasts impressive facilities and a stunning lobby. However, the rooms, while adequate, didn't quite live up to the price point. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by some extremely rude and unfriendly members of the hotel staff (not all of them though, the Japanese welcoming guy extremely friendly). When I inquired about checking in earlier, I was met with a dismissive response: 'That's Australian standard, 3 pm is the check-in time.' As an Australian myself, I found this comment not only unhelpful but also inaccurate. In fact, I had just come from the QT Hotel in Melbourne, where the staff were more than happy to accommodate my early check-in request, despite the official check-in time being 2 pm. The hotel's claim that 3 pm is the 'Australian standard' check-in time simply doesn't ring true. I've stayed in numerous hotels across various price points, and I've never encountered such inflexibility. The staff's attitude and behavior left a sour taste, and I would caution others to be prepared for a less-than-welcoming experience. I need to request to my room to be serviced a few times before they end up doing it. Argh...😤 Oh, almost forgot, they end up putting in disable room, saying that I booked a "cheap room" -350 per night 😳, and I needed get whatever they can provide, after so many back and forth they end up changing my room. So I guess I was not impressed at all....
