Reviews for Hilton Darwin

I stayed at the Hilton Darwin on the night of 21/09/24, after booking my room just a few minutes before arriving at the hotel. Upon arrival at the front desk, I had to request my room upgrade, as the staff didn’t seem aware of it—likely due to the last-minute reservation, which is understandable. However, the greeting was lacking warmth and a smile, which slightly dampened my check-in experience. Fortunately, after asking, I was upgraded, which I always appreciate as a member. The lobby is beautiful, spacious, and inviting, and I particularly loved the carpet in my room, which added a nice touch of comfort to my stay.

I recently stayed at this hotel from October 20 to October 21, and my experience was disappointing overall. While the front desk staff were friendly and handled check-in quickly, the room left much to be desired. Firstly, the bathroom lacked basic amenities like toothpaste, toothbrushes, and shaving supplies, which is unacceptable for a five-star hotel. Additionally, we ordered room service, but the dirty dishes were left outside our door for an entire night without being picked up. We also paid extra for internet access, but the streaming service was so laggy that it was practically unwatchable. These issues really need to be addressed if the hotel wants to maintain its five-star reputation. Overall, I was left feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return.

Staying at the Darwin Hilton was worth it, with a memorable experience to be had. The outdoor pool area was calming and pleasant with lounges and dining seating available under shade sails. The rooms were excellent as was the restaurant, food and all other facilities.

It is a well located hotel with an impressive entry, but definitely not 5 star. Some of the reception staff were good, some not so. Executive lounge has limited food options. Not a lot of vegetarian & the egg sandwiches which were part of canape selection were dried out as were the prawns on our second visit. Some guests were in vests & thongs!! No cake selection throughout the day, just plain biscuits in a jar & a coffee machine. Breakfast had no barista coffee, no salad bar & not a lot that was outstanding. Slow to replenish empty containers. Rooms were ok, but ours had no water view. For the prices charged, it is definitely not worth the money. Oh & it's cashless

The hotel is conveniently located to the waterfront, restaurants and some attractions. Our room appeared to be recently updated with everything in good condition. The room was reasonably clean but there were areas that needed more attention. While I’m usually saying the lighting in hotel rooms needs to be brighter, here there needs to be an ability to dim or turn off some lights. Plenty of outlets but no USB outlets. The toilet seat doesn’t seem to quite fit the toilet. No ice machines on the floors. You go to the bar or restaurant to get ice. If you want it delivered to your room there is a charge. The hotel has a pool but it was way too cold to go swimming. The included buffet breakfast was nice with an omelet station. The front desk staff were helpful and efficient. Overall a nice staff but for the price you expect more attention to detail. Note: The Hilton Darwin is a cashless hotel. Despite this they charge a 2% credit card fee. They do not accept cash
