Reviews for The Terrace Hotel Adelaide

The Terrace was part of a Discover Australia holiday deal. Upon arrival we were advised the rooms had not been cleaned which was to be expected due to our early flight. Staff were very friendly offering storage for our luggage. We returned later in the day provided with our room keys. We went to fill the kettle but there was no water; called reception to be told " oh sorry we are having maintenance done, the water will be off until 6pm". I had to ask for complimentary bottles of water, none had been offered. The room was very basic which is fine but it was grubby. Very poor housekeeping provided for the 3 nights were stayed. Floors were not vaccumed once, there was glitter on the carpet when we arrived & it was still there when we checked out. Tea etc were not replenished, went to reception to have them replaced. All the staff were great, friendly, very polite & helpful, just not enough of them! No privacy, we could hear the conversations of the guests in the next room very clearly. I would be not stay here again.

Five stars for the service. The staff here are clearly happy and it shows in the service. I've had some fantastic interactions and reception, at breakfast and with maintenance. There was a small issue with the room and everyone was on it to immediately resolve. There was minimal inconvenience to us and we were more than amply rewarded with kind words, kindness, great service and some really nice wine.

Nice room but their people and systems are letting the brand down. Last I stayed in this building it was The Sage Hotel so I thought I'd give it another go. Despite the endless apologies recieved upon checking out I WONT BE BACK.

Location good. Room unclean. Air conditioning sounded like a light plane flying. Room cold with no additional bedding available. Pillow had dark stain under cover. Cigarette butts littered outside the door to the smallest patio ever overlooking plumbing and a fence. Colleague's room similar state. Pity the rooms don't reflect the good presentation and vibe of the foyer and staff.

I will get the good things out first. The front staff is very helpful and polite. The rooms are renovated based on the old building so it feels fresher. The location is convenient being adjacent to the park belt and free tram stop. Parking is $15 per day in the hotel or free after 6PM on the street. Our neighbors made the stay less enjoyable as they are constantly talking loudly, blasting music and smoking. We spoke to the receptionist and the situation did not improve. We moved to a lower floor room with worse amenities and view as a result. Could still hear the new neighbors but the family sounded like they are having a normal conversation so we determined the sound proofing was just almost nonexistent due to the double door between adjacent rooms. The new room also had a dirty tub. Speaking of cleanliness. Room refresh was as basic as tidying the bedding and replacing towels. Our coffee and milk were not replenished. The hotel management was happy to provide the $10 per day voucher for each day the room was not cleaned. I turned the credit into some food and drink from the lobby fridge which is nice. The hotel had a decent brekkie buffet which was $20pp. Get a voucher from the from desk for that deal. I really wanted to like this place but the noise was just a deal breaker.
