Reviews for Amora Hotel Riverwalk

I can't speak highly enough of the service I received from Tequilla. Her friendly and professional manner made a huge impression on me. She made my stay in Melbourne feel effortless and stress-free. If you're looking for fantastic service with a lovely welcoming smile look no further than Amora. A true 5-star experience!

This review is specifically for the Amora Hotel buffet, not the hotel itself. The hotel is good, except for the view, which was very narrow. My IBS has been under control for over a year, but their cheeseburger and fries brought it right back — causing a lot of pain afterward. On top of that, the portion size was ridiculously small for the price. I actually left the café still hungry. Only 11–13 fries came with the meal — extremely stingy. Very disappointed and definitely won’t be coming back. (Photo attached). I wish I had bought a $12 roast chicken from Woolies (2.5 times cheaper, 10 times more healthier portions!).

Wonderful riverside location and excellent rooms. We booked a number of suites for a family wedding in Richmond and were very pleased we did. The rooms were spacious comfortable and well appointed. There are good dining options and easy parking on site.

We went into our room to see the bathroom was dirty, so we asked for it to be cleaned and they said it would be taken care of. We come back after they have “cleaned it” and only made the beds which we didnt need but left the bathroom dirty so we had to request again and finally it was cleaned after we decided to go back and stay to make sure of it. The cleaner only had to use a tissue and while it’s a small thing it’s something you would have expected to be taken care of for a place like this. Other relatives also had similar issues with cleanliness.

Stayed: 23–25 May 2025 I really enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant—beautifully prepared with a lovely selection of local wines, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t quite match the same standard. Reception staff seemed unable to understand my Australian accent when I asked about the TV that wasn’t working, which was frustrating. The air conditioner couldn’t be adjusted for comfort, and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Also the beds where not set up as x 2 as requested both when booking and confirmed again by phone. After a full day exploring Melbourne, we returned to find the room hadn’t been serviced—though someone did come after 5pm, oddly late and inconvenient since I was hoping to rest before dinner. On checkout, staff again mocked me by not understanding English and didn’t ask how our stay was or provide a copy of the bill, which felt an impersonal. Some great elements, but overall let down by service and basic room attendance.
