The best bits: the staff were so friendly and helpful. The lobby area is very welcoming. The buffet breakfast was great value. The less good parts: rooms were tired. They’re kept clean, but even the sheets and curtains are showing signs of age and wear. The room (112) was spacious, but had very limited storage and hanging, so I had to drape a lot of my clothes over furniture. Power sockets are all very inconveniently placed - and nothing by the beds. Bathroom has limited storage. It was IMPOSSIBLE to get the shower to a comfortable temperature - either so hot it took off your skin, or cold. The bed was so soft it felt like the mattress was broken. Single glazing lets in draughts and the considerable road noise. The room had a lot of windows and curtains, and it was hard to block out the external light overnight. It’s a shame, because the team are so nice, but the relative discomfort of the room would put me off staying again when in Melbourne.

Wonderful hotel. Staff were so friendly and efficient especially the staff working in the restaurant for breakfast over the weekend. Breakfast was very good value including all the traditional buffet breakfast foods. I was in the One Bedroom Loft Apartment with Balcony which was certainly dated but comfortable and clean. I slept very well which is unusual for me in hotels. My room also had a mini clothes washer/dryer which I wish I knew about beforehand as I could have brought my running gear to take advantage of the incredibly convenient footpaths along the river. Marvellous addition to the room. I visit Melbourne once a year or so and this will be the first hotel I will stay at twice.

Rooms and staff were good. Restaurant however the food was overpriced and crap. Ordered butter chicken and rice as only got 4 little bit size chicken pieces smallest rice probably 1/2 cup was cold. Was very annoyed it took so long and cold. Would not recommend this place to anyone! If your going to be overpriced make sure food is hot and great, then don't mind paying for it.

Stayed: 23–25 May 2025 I really enjoyed the food at the hotel restaurant—beautifully prepared with a lovely selection of local wines, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn’t quite match the same standard. Reception staff seemed unable to understand my Australian accent when I asked about the TV that wasn’t working, which was frustrating. The air conditioner couldn’t be adjusted for comfort, and the shower leaked all over the bathroom floor. Also the beds where not set up as x 2 as requested both when booking and confirmed again by phone. After a full day exploring Melbourne, we returned to find the room hadn’t been serviced—though someone did come after 5pm, oddly late and inconvenient since I was hoping to rest before dinner. On checkout, staff again mocked me by not understanding English and didn’t ask how our stay was or provide a copy of the bill, which felt an impersonal. Some great elements, but overall let down by service and basic room attendance.

Had a very early morning appointment so stayed at the Amora Hotel Riverwalk in Richmond for 1 night. Booked online - absolutely straightforward exercise. Checked in on arrival - nice vibe in the foyer area - staff member greeted and welcomed me at the desk. Trouble free check in and headed to room on second floor. Given the price of the accommodation was not expecting that much but the standard room I booked was really spacious complete with ensuite bathroom and a private balcony and table/chairs. All spotless, well lit, warm and even built in desk and couch. To be honest I was delighted. Comfy bed, good shower pressure. Had a drink at the bar - enjoyable space. Was gone by 6.15am so didn’t have breakfast. Was looking for a Thai feed so didn’t eat at the hotel - lots of restaurants and eateries about 10 minute walk towards the city. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks team Amora !
