Great rooms, very soft, comfy beds. Standard coffee and tea-making facilities. Cute pool beside the restaurant, with a nice spa. Breakfast buffet is standard, but very tasty. Some good offers and upgrades available - worth signing up as a member. Secure, off-street parking available at a cost - around $27 a night for unlimited entry/exit. Otherwise, heaps of parking on street, but not secure.

Considering that it is an old hotel, the room is clean and tidy. My sleep was good, and the bed was comfortable. Water was all over the drip tray when we arrived. To empty it, my spouse had to ask for towels. They offered us an upgrade. Next room size up with a view. A drink voucher each. The staff at the restaurant, housekeeping, and reception were all accommodating and kind.

We loved our stay here, Corina really made our stay so cheerful as she made us fabulous morning coffee after our early morning swim in their pool. Corina is a shining gem at Rydges and made us feel incredibly welcome.

Rydges is a well-known name and I expected quality. I didn’t get it. We stayed for 2 nights. On arrival there was only one person at the front desk checking people in (around 3pm which would certainly be known to be a busy time). The room itself was clean and well presented. The amenities were average. Just regular TV channels. No additional channels or options for movies or connecting to my own streaming services. There was no hand soap provided, we ended up using our own. There were large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower but the only other toiletries provided were 3 sanitary bags and a shower cap. No face washers were provided, just towels, 1 hand towel & a bath mat. The shower had visible black mould and looked like it needed attention. Parking was not included in our stay and would come at a massive $27 a day for a car park that was not even undercover. We were offered a heavily discounted rate for pre-booked buffet breakfast. We came to understand the reason for this was probably that if people didn’t pre-book and pay they wouldn’t come back after the first experience. The selection was basic and some of the food just wasn’t cooked well or looked very unappetising. Staff were friendly but I wouldn’t say the service was outstanding in any way. It was just the basic conversations you need to have to be admitted to the hotel or into the dining area. Sadly, I couldn’t recommend staying here and would not want to return.

I have no idea why this hotel is so popular with families... it has a small pool and is nowhere near any family attractions... but both nights I was there, despite the families in the rooms around me changing, the noise of kids running around and yelling in the hallways until well past 2am was unbelievable and incredibly rude... not the fault of the hotel, but I was very tempted to invite someone over to have very loud sex in the hope some of the families would prefer their noisy brats be in the room instead of screaming through the hallway all night! Otherwise, it was an adequate room, though insanely overpriced.
