Reviews for Melbourne Zoo

A great day out for the whole family. So many gorgeous animals to see. Our family favourites are the lemurs, meerkats, butterflies, giraffes and penguins. The staff are always friendly and they are happy to share their knowledge of the animals. My kids love the main play area near the carousel. A fun place for them to run around or sit down to eat.

we spent 3 hours here (skipped a handful of exhibits). great zoo to visit. super easy to navigate, great variety of animals. animals look well taken care of, with a lot of thought and effort put into their habitats and enrichment. lots of education for visitors. appreciate all the conservation efforts and information as well. loved this zoo and highly recommend it.

Melbourne Zoo is an amazing place to spend a day. The grounds are beautifully kept, and the habitats feel natural and spacious, giving you the sense that the animals are truly cared for. Don't expect to see all the animals. Some of them are sleeping or just hiding from the public. Not all of us like cameras and lots of attention. Hahaha 😁 There’s a fantastic variety of wildlife — from lions and gorillas to playful lemurs and the always-fascinating butterfly house. It’s also very family-friendly, with plenty of activities and areas for kids to learn and explore.

First time at Melbourne Zoo. Must say, its very well maintained. Few things like a "Melbourne Zoo" symbol, picnic area for kids inside the Zoo and other little things has made it popular among kids and loved it. There are different areas like for reptiles, lion and for leimurs. Very impressive how leimurs have huge area to move around and they have been provided with food. Plenty of parking outside the Zoo, $2 for 5 hours, cheap and convenient for parents. Buy a Zoo membership instead of buying tickets and you can visit all other zoos and comes with multiple entries for one year.

The zoo definitely had a lot to offer and it was massive. The staff are very friendly and seem happy to be there. I recommend wearing good walking shoes as it's easily 10k steps to get around it all.
