Reviews for Melbourne Zoo

Love the layout of the zoo! So easy to get around. Enough places to eat, sit down, plenty of bathrooms around as well. Very children friendly! There was a Carousel and face painting which are great for the little ones.

Melbourne Zoo is a fantastic destination for animal lovers and families alike. The zoo features a wide variety of species in well-designed habitats that mimic their natural environments. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. Highlights include the lion and gorilla exhibits, as well as the immersive Australian wildlife section. It's a great place to learn about conservation while enjoying a day out. Highly recommended!

This is my first visit to Melbourne Zoo, and it's surprisingly an awesome place for kids and families. The enclosures are beautifully and naturally arranged for all types of animals. I've seen some people complaining in reviews about not being able to see the animals in their enclosures during their visit. Come on, guys, they are animals. They have their own schedules and aren't like fashion models who show their faces whenever people are around. Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, especially my kid. We will definitely come back for sure. Please enjoy some of my pics. Thanks!

Melbourne Zoo was a great day out for my family. The place had a great atmosphere and the enclosureslooked beautiful while also giving the animals room to roam. There was a huge amount of animals and the water animals facility was an amazing experience.

Visiting Melbourne Zoo was an absolute highlight of my trip. I was blown away by the sheer diversity of animals, from the majestic elephants to the playful monkeys. The zoo itself is beautifully maintained, with lush greenery and spacious enclosures that allow the animals plenty of room to roam. The Trail of the Elephants was a truly humbling experience. Observing a herd of Asian elephants interacting up close was simply awe-inspiring. The Gorilla Rainforest exhibit was equally incredible, showcasing these intelligent primates in a recreated rainforest environment. I was deeply impressed by the zoo's commitment to animal welfare. The enclosures are designed to be both enriching and engaging for the animals, and I learned so much about conservation efforts and the importance of protecting endangered species. Beyond the larger exhibits, I had some wonderful smaller encounters: Meerkats: I was charmed by the meerkats in their cleverly designed habitat. Butterfly Garden: This was a magical experience! Butterflies literally landed on me in this incredibly natural space. Seals: The seal aquarium was fantastic, with active seals performing for the crowd. Penguins: The penguins were adorable and well-cared for. Otters: Watching the otters play in their artificial water-stream was incredibly refreshing. Small Aquariums: These were beautifully designed and showcased a fascinating variety of aquatic life. Peccaries: I was excited to see these unique animals! The zoo store was also a delight, with a fantastic selection of souvenirs. I couldn't resist purchasing an echidna! Overall, Melbourne Zoo is a must-see for any visitor to Melbourne. It's a truly iconic zoo with a rich history and a vibrant atmosphere. I highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of age. Tips: Be aware of the temperature, as higher temperatures during mid-day can force many animals to retract to their dens.
