To Poppy and her wonderful team, Thank you for helping us celebrate our son's 21st. What an amazing evening, with every guest enjoying a total experience. Our host for the evening was Scarlett who worked tirelessly (with a beautiful smile the whole evening) to ensure everything ran smoothly. The food was faultless and the celebratory drinks flowed. The atmosphere after 10.30 pm was electric, with the DJ playing amazing music. A fantastic venue that i would highly recommend for any special moment!

So good we went on the same week twice!! The George has been on my radar to go to for a long time but just never acted on it until my partner booked us a dinner last week/on Tuesday night after work and we were SO pleased with the service and the menu/flavour of everything! He requested a booth and we were given on both occasions and that made the dining experience really nice. The young man (we didn’t catch his name but he’s tall and has curly hair) served us and even remembered my partner when we came back! The music was just right, the toilets were clean, and the restaurant itself is easy to locate. Points as well for booking— couldn’t find anything on the website to book 4pm on Saturday for 4ppl so I made a phone call and they were able to book us in for 2hr seating + was also given a head’s up it is only “reduced menu” between 3-5pm (which was fine cos our favourite sambal chicken and meat spring roll were on it!) On Saturday it was obviously busier. We ordered 2 arancia rossa then another 2 after 30mins but never came only to be told later on that they ran out of it. It was okay and didn’t dampen the experience. (Just a suggestion though, wish they provide bowl of water and lemon or wet wipes just to clean our fingers whilst munching on the delicious sambal chicken + the coat rack was outside the door so with the Melbourne cold, wearing the coat already has a breeze to it 🤭) Overall, a really delightful experience (friendly staff + great food) and will definitely bring some family and friends who will be visiting Melbourne! What we had: • Burrata • Bao • Sambal chicken 🤤 • Dumplings (both the meat and the veggie one— I’d probably skip the veggie next time) • Both the betel leaf dishes • Lamb ribs (+ coconut rice) • Hanoi pork spring rolls 🤤

A delicious lunch and lovely wait staff. We were looking for a quick coffee but ended up trying the lunch specials prompted by our incredibly friendly and lovely waitress Toni. And she wasn’t wrong the food was plentiful and delicious. The restaurant is beautifully set out in low mood lighting with booths and tables, which would perfectly fit a gracious lunch or a romantic interlude. Only niggle is that the coffee although well made is something special flavour wise. Combined with the attentive service and fantastic food it’s well worth a try.

The George on Collins is always a vibe, but the real standout for me was the life-changing experience of trying their cocktail “One Night in Paris” – honestly one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and unforgettable. Pair it with their spring rolls and calamari, which are both absolute must-haves on the menu – fresh, full of flavour and the perfect share plates. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great cocktails, delicious food and a beautiful atmosphere in the heart of the city!

What can I say? This place completely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in for something special. Every dish was an absolute standout: Flavourful, beautifully presented, and timed perfectly. The sparkling wine on the house was a lovely touch too. The vibe was the perfect blend of modern sophistication and cozy charm, making it feel like an inviting yet stylish retreat from the world. And here's the kicker: The prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portions. For our first anniversary, it couldn’t have been more perfect. But what truly made the night unforgettable was the service. The staff were attentive without being overbearing, warm without being intrusive, and made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish. It was the kind of service that makes you eager to return. Can’t wait to come back!
