We were returning from a Sunday matinee performance at the theatre and looking for somewhere open at 4:30 because we were quite hungry. We hadn’t eaten lunch, but it wasn’t quiet dinner time either. We walked into The George on Collins and had a fantastic meal. The staff was terrific. The kitchen wasn’t open for full service at that time, but they still catered for us, and we could order off the dinner menu, which we were grateful for. It was all wonderful, but my favourite was the chicken lettuce cups and pork spring rolls.
My husband and I went to The George on Collins with high expectations and they didn't disappoint! Food was so yummy with lots of flavors that exploded on our mouth! Service was so profesional and we were offered help with the menu if we needed it. Ambience was great! Love the music in the background! The layout of the restaurant is amazing! We were given enough time to enjoy the food and the beautiful cocktails we had. Highly recommend this restaurant! Already bought a voucher for a friend and family! Thanks for an amazing experience!
This was a spur of the moment. We came here to have a quick bite to eat and I was pleasantly surprised that you can have great food and drinks for reasonable price. The atmosphere was amazing. This restaurant has various areas where you can dine in a booth, table or at a bar. DJ was playing good music. The one, small thing that sour the whole experience is that at the pay station that machine is asking for a tip and the waitress is looking at you expectantly. This is not acceptable in Australia! The tip is when you underpay your employees and this not the case down under. I had to refuse the tip and it was embarrassing. Otherwise, highly recommend!
Overall this restaurant that has replaced Longroom was good. Food was nice but some of their meals were more pretty than tasty. Pork Belly was extremely fatty. Lamb ribs were nice. Ceviche was also good. Their drinks were also good with some really good cocktails. I did ask one of the head waitresses to slightly change the arrangement of our seats as we were a large group but she gave me a blanket "no" without coming around and observing what I was talking about.
This was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday and my sisters birthday! The food was divine, service was outstanding. We were even offered free champagne to start our lunch for our birthday. We loved everything we ordered and found our new favourite cocktail, 'One night in Paris', mmmmm We loved the entertainment, both the roaming singers had wonderful voices and sung a variety of music. Overall, we can't wait to find an excuse to go back!
