•QT Canberra — home to Canberra’s most unique and largest hotel conference venues!
Whether you're on the hunt for a private space to sound out a new campaign direction, or an impressive designer space geared to ignite a spending spree in potential supporters, QT Canberra has the perfect space just for you, with eight function rooms and a capacity of up to 1000.
A wide array of conference spaces with the signature QT talents of quirk and creativity to make a strong statement in the form of a memorable function.
Located in the cultural precinct of New Acton, the former Lakeside Hotel property has been home to many a handshake deal and long lunch. The redesigned building was embraced by new technology, distinctive art and cutting-edge design. QT Canberra has extensive experience in delivering exceptional events with the largest hotel function venue in the Canberra region.
The interconnecting configuration of the QT Ballroom Canberra can also be partitioned into three separate function rooms, with the banquet floor also offering five additional rooms providing exceptional facilities for smaller meetings, workshops or breakouts. The pillar-less rooms all offer natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows and neutral tones throughout.
The QT Canberra team will work with you to create a bespoke event, paying meticulous attention to the smallest of details. From arrival drinks and canapés through to marquee hire and outdoor areas, we will work with you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
The property has invested in the best internet capabilities in Canberra, as WiFi becomes essential rather than an option at all events. All delegates are offered free WiFi for their duration in the hotel. All rooms include data projectors and drop screens and interactive digital screening linked from the foyer to the function floor, crossing over all rooms.
QT Canberra’s award-winning concept restaurant Capitol Bar and Grill is a Chicago-style grill with an Italian twist offering a range of fine wine, bistro classics and future favourites, whilst the hotel offers a number of exclusive retreats, secret rooms and guest suites kitted out with designer decor and mod cons.
There is also the added advantage of deluxe accommodation at QT Canberra with its 205 guest suites, which all have balcony views of the city and lakeside, quirky QT Mini bar — crowned "Best Superior Hotel" at the 2017 ACT AHA Awards, and designer decor with all the savvy mod cons delegates need to get the job done — including free WiFi, in-room movies and Nespresso machines.

Review: Stylish vibe, but let down by dated rooms and breakfast policy Overall Rating: 3/5 Stars My stay at the Qt Canberra was a bit of a mixed bag. While the hotel has a cool concept, there are several areas that need improvement to match its reputation. Rooms & Service The design of the hotel is definitely unique, but the rooms themselves felt quite dated. You can really see the age of the furnishings, and they lack the freshness you’d expect at this price point. Furthermore, the housekeeping service was only mediocre—it wasn't bad, but it lacked the thoroughness and attention to detail I expected. Breakfast: High quality, poor transparency The breakfast experience was the biggest disappointment, despite the food itself. On the positive side, the meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Qualitatively, the kitchen does a great job. However, I was disappointed to find no breakfast buffet; it was à la carte only. What bothered me most was the lack of transparency: additional drinks, such as a second coffee, were charged extra. This was never mentioned during the ordering process, making the extra costs an unpleasant surprise on the final bill. Summary: The food tastes good, but the lack of a buffet and the hidden charges for basic items like extra coffee—without any prior warning—felt like poor service. Combined with the aging rooms, it makes for a stay that doesn't quite live up to its potential.
Great value for money. The hotel was clean, modern, and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is excellent — right in the heart of the city and close to everything. The only downside was that the walls were quite thin, so we could hear people in the next room, and the balcony dividers were small enough that privacy could be an issue. Overall, a great stay with excellent value and a prime central location, and we’d happily stay again.
We came for an anniversary trip as we were seeing a show locally. For the money we spent the Stay was really disappointing. The highlights of the room were that the bed was comfortable. Outside of that the bathroom was disappointing, the shower was leaking and had terrible pressure and their shampoo, conditioner and body was are just in communal bottles on the shower, not connected or sealed so anyone could have tampered with them in any way, this is the first time I have ever seen this at a hotel. After the show we returned to the hotel bar for a couple of drinks as it was a Tuesday evening and most places in town were closed or empty. Not only were the drinks insanely expensive ($40 for a house whiskey and dry and a vodka lime and soda) they had grossly over served a group of business people, both men and women, that were yelling at each other, dancing in the middle of the lounge and very visibly intoxicated, especially for 9:00 on a Tuesday night. One bar tender attempted to cut them off and the other then served them another full bottle of wine to the table which was our cue to leave. Breakfast was also very disappointing, being charged $7 for marmalade glazed ham which was genuinely 3 pieces of grilled deli ham as well as $7 for 2 pieces of oven baked burnt bacon was really underwhelming. Having stayed at the QT in Queensland and Sydney and for $350 a night we expected better and were incredibly disappointed. We will not be back and will encourage others to make alternative choices. There is also a huge amount of road works going on at the moment which I understand is not in their control but was not communicated to us at any time during the booking process.
Lovely hotel and good location. We stayed in a twin room which the website states has 2 x king single beds - not so! They were normal single beds so my tall teenager was hanging off the end. The beds were very comfortable however. The room was really lovely, spotlessly clean, and lovely amenities were available within the room. We requested a room with a lake view (I didn't even know if this was possible) and our room did indeed have a view of the lake and Parliament House. There is some noise from the street but it wasn't too bad. All of the staff we came into contact with were wonderful- very friendly and excellent service in all areas. A special shout out to Matthew who checked us in on arrival 🌞. All of the food was wonderful - we ate breakfast and had room service. Negatives: Minibar was SUPER expensive so we avoided that, and there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Also - $35 a day for hotel parking when we are already guests at the hotel is just outrageous. We chose to use local parking instead.
Went to Canberra this past weekend and stayed the night here at the QT. It was lovely. Great location, friendly staff, comfy rooms, very clean. Breakfast was great. Easy check in and check out. Id stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
