•QT Canberra — home to Canberra’s most unique and largest hotel conference venues!
Whether you're on the hunt for a private space to sound out a new campaign direction, or an impressive designer space geared to ignite a spending spree in potential supporters, QT Canberra has the perfect space just for you, with eight function rooms and a capacity of up to 1000.
A wide array of conference spaces with the signature QT talents of quirk and creativity to make a strong statement in the form of a memorable function.
Located in the cultural precinct of New Acton, the former Lakeside Hotel property has been home to many a handshake deal and long lunch. The redesigned building was embraced by new technology, distinctive art and cutting-edge design. QT Canberra has extensive experience in delivering exceptional events with the largest hotel function venue in the Canberra region.
The interconnecting configuration of the QT Ballroom Canberra can also be partitioned into three separate function rooms, with the banquet floor also offering five additional rooms providing exceptional facilities for smaller meetings, workshops or breakouts. The pillar-less rooms all offer natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows and neutral tones throughout.
The QT Canberra team will work with you to create a bespoke event, paying meticulous attention to the smallest of details. From arrival drinks and canapés through to marquee hire and outdoor areas, we will work with you every step of the way to ensure your event is a success.
The property has invested in the best internet capabilities in Canberra, as WiFi becomes essential rather than an option at all events. All delegates are offered free WiFi for their duration in the hotel. All rooms include data projectors and drop screens and interactive digital screening linked from the foyer to the function floor, crossing over all rooms.
QT Canberra’s award-winning concept restaurant Capitol Bar and Grill is a Chicago-style grill with an Italian twist offering a range of fine wine, bistro classics and future favourites, whilst the hotel offers a number of exclusive retreats, secret rooms and guest suites kitted out with designer decor and mod cons.
There is also the added advantage of deluxe accommodation at QT Canberra with its 205 guest suites, which all have balcony views of the city and lakeside, quirky QT Mini bar — crowned "Best Superior Hotel" at the 2017 ACT AHA Awards, and designer decor with all the savvy mod cons delegates need to get the job done — including free WiFi, in-room movies and Nespresso machines.

We had an okay stay at QT Canberra. The rate and package were very competitive, including parking, breakfast, and a few nice perks. And the reception staff were super friendly and helpful throughout. We did have some issues with our room, the first was uncomfortably cold and the temperature couldn’t be adjusted. We were moved to another room (thanks to the helpful team), but even there the climate control wasn’t working properly. At least it was warmer! The hotel itself feels quite dated and the rooms don’t reflect the stylish vibe shown on their website. A bit of a letdown compared to other QT properties we’ve stayed at in other cities. That said, the breakfast was decent, and the complimentary drinks at the bar from our package were a nice addition. All in all, it’s not a standout QT experience but it was good value for money and we appreciated not being hit with a huge bill at the end.
Light rail construction aside, and the noise that accompanied it from 7.30am 7 days a week, the main thing letting this hotel down is cleanliness in all the shared areas. Most surfaces were dusty or downright dirty. In the main bar, chips, crumbs, wet tables...everything goes unwiped and cleaned. There seems to be t total apathy in that regard. Dirty, scuffed furniture, unvacuumed carpets - the place, despite a bit of age, would be totally acceptable, even nice, if anybody gave a damn about these things. It's not from a lack of staff, there were uniformed bods everywhere. And from day to day the lack of simple cleaning was painfully obvious. There seems a lack of leadership and attention to detail. The rooms were mainly clean and tidy but also let down by basic maintenance and obvious mistakes. A net curtain had a fist sized tear at eye level, half-arsed fixes were made to wall linings. A sheet on one bed had either a food or blood stain(unclear) - laundered obviously but just totally unacceptable to ever be used on a bed again. Businesses would I'm sure apologize about these things, claim them as aberrations, but it's clear that the witnessed repetition of these hotelier failures speak to a poor culture. Any reassurance couldn't be trusted. Lip service, if it was offered. The only true remedy is to work with your staff from bottom up and fix these issues. How to wipe a table. How to crumb a couch. How to dust a surface. How often to vacuum a hallway. How to report wear and tear in rooms. Basic, basic stuff.
Do yourself a favour and book somewhere else. There is no gym on site, you will have to walk almost 1km away to Club Lime. My token did not work after I had traipsed around Canberra CBD at -1degree in the dark at 5am. It took 6 minutes on the phone to reception to confirm I was definitely at the right gym before I came back (which I was). Offered breakfast as compensation (I was already running late for work so this was not an acceptable offer). I travel to Canberra frequently and will never use this hotel again.
QT CANBERRA was an amazing place to stay. Room had a great view and the room was regularly cleaned. Also loved the chocolate treats left with a card as it was my birthday during my stay with them. Loved the team. Great job
Mother’s Day high tea The QT Hotel provides a stunning venue for high tea, with an ambiance that’s both elegant and inviting. The setting undoubtedly sets the stage for a luxurious experience, and the friendly, attentive staff add a personal touch that’s hard to fault. However, despite the beautiful surroundings and warm service, the experience fell short when it came to accommodating dietary requirements. A pregnant family member’s specific needs were not adequately met, which was disappointing given the expectations set by the hotel’s reputation and price point. While the presentation and atmosphere were impressive, this oversight made the experience feel less than ideal and not entirely worth the cost. For such a premium venue, greater attention to detail in catering to all guests’ needs would go a long way.
