We had to come to Sydney from Hobart for our Grand-daughters graduation ceremony, and Rydges Camperdown seemed like a good choice, being quite near. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are a nice size and very quiet, probably a function of the unusual room plan. The bed was very comfortable and the TV very good, with a full range of Smarts available. The restaurant also was good, but seemingly understaffed. The breakfast buffet was excellent and very comprehensive and of great quality. It is very convenient, having the 412 and 422 bus just outside in Missenden Road. We would happily stay here again!

Shocked this is called a Rydges. Bathroom for the family suite was shockingly small. Shower pressure was non existent, almost impossible to wash your hair. Rooms not serviced. Rubbish in the hallways outside rooms not cleared. Breakfast average. Toilets near reception a mess our entire trip and not cleaned or serviced. This is a 2 star hotel in need of some serious cleaning and an upgrade. Very disappointed for what I paid to stay, the poor staff need more help. The pool photos have been photoshopped

Stayed here while Mrs was in hospital. Very convenient and in walking distance to hospital. Room serviced every day, my only disappointment was the parking. We have a 4x4 and found parking a bit awkward, as spaces were small and there were a lot of support beams making it difficult. Apart from parking I highly recommend.

There was poo on the floor. I've stayed here a few times because the price is reasonable - but I wouldn't go back after this. When I arrived late there was a series of brown spots that looked like bodily fluids (poo?) on the floor, in a line leading from the bed to bathroom. There were also marks on the bathroom floor, and the bathroom smelled terrible. The next day I asked to be moved to a room with no poo on the floor. They said they were fully booked, so I asked for my room the be cleaned. That night there was still poo on the floor. Again to was late so I had to suffer through it, tiptoeing across the floor to avoid contamination and holding my nose in the bathroom. Grim times. When I checked out I explained the poo on the floor problem had not been fixed. The man behind the counter said they would fix it for the next customer, which obviously doesn't help me. I received no apology. Book here at your peril.

The location and room size are great, and my kid loves the coloring activity station. However, the service has been terrible. I spoke to an attendant a couple of days ago, and his attitude wasn't suitable for customer service. Despite this, I didn't plan to write a bad review. Unfortunately, my experience with room service and cleanliness took a turn for the worse. Over the 5 nights I stayed at Rydges, the cleaning service was reluctantly acceptable until the last night. The room wasn't properly cleaned - there was no toilet paper, dirty towels were left on the floor, and used towels were scattered around. I've stayed at many hotels in Sydney, including 4 and 5-star ones, but this is the first time I've felt compelled to leave a bad review.
