We had a lovely stay at this resort. The location was great with walking distance to restaurants, the beach, shops & the spa. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. We booked the room with a private plunge pool which gave us a quiet space to relax when it was busy on the weekend. The staff were very friendly and helpful if we needed anything. Buffet breakfast was well stocked and tasty. Can highly recommend!
We have stayed here numerous times in the past. We have found Peppers to be good value for money and the staff to be most accommodating. This time however, Peppers has let their standards drop. Perhaps it was because of being heavy over committed with numerous functions occurring on the weekend of our visit. Issues: The room was well presented as always, however we had a delay in booking in due to the room not being cleaned until several hours past the 2pm check in time. When we got to our room the clean was not to standard, the floor had patches of dry sand on it, which you picked up on bare feet. Very problematic when it came to bed time. We asked several times for this to be rectified and we are on day 3 still with a sandy apartment. The kitchen amenities provided are very tired and makes food preparation challenging. Dull stained knives, lack of utensils - we had to use salad servers in place of tongs. At breakfast the dining staff were not as motivated to clear away dirty plates in cadence with leaving guests, creating a backlog with arriving diners. Of two toasters only one was operating properly which again created a backlog. We have stayed at this Peppers many times over the last 15 years both as a couple and as a family and would do so again but we are really hoping that management take note of reviews such as this and make the appropriate changes and improvements.
This is an Accor property charging premium prices for a not so premium product. Our standard king room at $385 per night was the size of a motel room. The balcony overlooked the pool but a third of the balcony is taken up with the motor of the air-conditioning for 2 rooms. Not pleasant to sit next to. The room was not clean. There was a lot of dust. This is a management issue. Your cleaners do not have enough time per room. The resort offers some nice pool areas and staff were welcoming. I just felt I paid a lot of money for not very much. They can't even provide 3 ply loo paper!
Very happy with the resort as whole. Much prefer the larger room with the lounge and kitchen area. Loved having our own little plunge pool, even though it was too cold to swim. Great place to have a few days away with our amazing friends. The resort is within walking distance to some excellent restaurants, bars, shops and the beach. Just a short drive to Kingscliff and other great venues to eat and shop.
Unfortunately, the worst experience ever. I booked here because it’s under All Accor, and I’m a Gold member. At other Accor hotels, my membership has meant room upgrades, late check‑outs, and genuinely professional service. But at Peppers Salt, it felt like the place was run by people who’ve barely worked in hospitality. I asked for a room upgrade, mentioned I was Gold, and was told they were “fully booked.” Later, I checked the website myself—plenty of rooms showing as available. Same story with late check‑out: another sticky smile, another “fully booked,” yet the website again showed availability. The location is great, and the restaurants are just a stone’s throw away, but the management here is dragging the whole place down. The room was old and poorly maintained, the jacuzzi had broken and exposed parts, the water didn’t look hygienic, and the ceiling had bugs stuck to it. Sorry, but I honestly hope someone from Accor or the hotel management pays proper attention, because this was nowhere near the standard
