Amazing, friendly staff that were very welcoming and did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Comfortable bedding and clean rooms, so lovely to be in. Excellent views from our suite and convenient undercover parking. Easy access to main CBD area, very convenient.
Considering how busy it was and the limited staff that was able to work during the new years period, I think the hotel did really well considering the circumstances. The location is excellent as it’s in the more peaceful end of the beach and close to the golf club. Walking distance to beach, golf club, stadiums and town. Will definitely stay again!!!
They were charging me for whole a bottle of wine when I was asking for a glass of wine for my partner and a beer for my self,I noticed it when I grabbed some cash from the atm i noticed it was costing me $61.00 for two drinks,I got a refund for one bottle, also they charged us twice for the room we had for two nights,so we had to go back and sort out a refund, and the breakfast basically was fruit with yogurt,no bacon and eggs they had some sandwich meat like turkey and ham. Then after eating the fruit and yogurt I was sick all day,I thought I noticed a slightly funky smell as I was eating the yogurt
DO NOT STAY AT THE SAGE! 😡😡😡😡😡 Please read all the bad reviews before you book because they are all true. Business people, it’s not worth your money especially when explaining to your accountant the dodgy and confusing invoices they give you. They will rip you off with your invoice and add extra charges without letting you know. @Current Affair needs to investigate their surcharges. Be aware of this. The surcharges is where you will lose your money. No warning at all. There are no signs to advise of the surcharge so customers lose out and they do not advise you of cash option. We had issues with the bed it was two single mattresses put together instead of a king bed, therefore it was uncomfortable.m and kept coming apart. At the pool we ordered drinks and they gave us the wrong order. The pool had a sign to say it was out of order, so we went back to our rooms, however it wasn’t out of order the sign wasn’t taken off. It says a non smoking hotel, however there downstairs lobby smells like cigarettes, there were cigarette buds on the property and workers cleaning rooms smelt like cigarettes. You have to ring to have housekeeping as they are behind on it and I was advised there were important guests coming that they were getting ready for. Which is quite offensive to us paying guests. The rooms are not sound proof so you can hear people in the hall way talking and doors closing also you can every time someone was in the pool. We had to ask a few times for restocking items as they weren’t re stocked. There shower door was faulty didn’t close. There is only 2 lifts and they were very slow and the car park you can’t reserve. We won’t be staying back at the Sage and we have spoken to them about all of our concerns. If you want to pay for a great location and great quality service then Sage is not the place. Please do your research and look around for better hotels close to the beach with a pool in Wollongong. Very disappointed. 😞
The breakfast was mediocre, there was only pastries, yogurts, bread and some lunch meat. You had to purchase eggs separately because there was no hot items in the buffet. Any eggs you bought were $20 no matter if you got a whole thing of eggs benedict or a handfuls worth scrambled eggs. The facilities were decent, the pool was ok, the gym was a bit small and the bar was good. The view from the room was very good.
