I've lived on the Gold Coast most of my life and had never been to this iconic Hotel. I walk in the door and there's a female Duty Manager (dressed in black) feeding her face behind the bar. That's an absolute no no in the hospitality industry. It wreaks of unprofessional at it's highest. She says absolutely nothing to me, walks off and gets the bar staff to take my order. Ordered 250g Rump with Salad and chips. $32 it cost. Steak was cooked correctly but it was tough. Salad was one slice of tomato and a very small vingerette salad which comprised of little bits of lettuce and red onion. The gravy that came with the meal was nothing short of disgusting. Tasted like hospital gravy. Overall I give this dining experience a 3/10. Train your staff correctly would be the first bit of advice I can give Management. I love giving reviews on quiet nights. It gives you a true indication of what's happening. Never again!

We were in the function room for 18th party. It was great. The bar lady did an absolutely awesome job and the food platters were fabulous. Overall everyone had a great time. Would def recommend this room for any party.

Wish I'd started coming here a long time ago! Service and food both fantastic. Schnitzel was one of the best I've had anywhere in a very long time! Staff were all very accommodating and friendly. Will be back again soon!

We've been twice on 10th Nov and 24th Nov and booked specifically to see the advertised kids entertainment. 10th November there was no magic show as advertised and a face painter showed up instead. There were safety issues that were not controlled by staff such as older kids (teenagers) dominating the playground while a caregiver kept the gate open with a chair and drank a schooner while inside. This meant my young kids could not utilise the playground. We decided to give it another go. On the 24th, "Emma Wiggle" was advertised- we had to call twice to clarify if this was an impersonator- which we were fine with, but the staff answering the phone did not know about the entertainment and just said they didn't know what we were talking about even though it's on the website. Upon arriving for our booking, it became apparent that we were going to get a kids tattoo artist instead, and when I asked if the advertised entertainment had cancelled, the staff member behind the bar said "all I know is that today's entertainment is a tattoo artist. They tell us one thing and do another". There were kids dressed to see "Emma Wiggle". I know the cancelled entertainment is not the venue's fault but a little communication would have been great in both instances- there's so many social media posts about other acts and just nothing about the kid's entertainment. Also, it's just a basic thing to inform the staff of what's going on so they can answer questions. It's a very expensive lunch to take the kids to and we are just so disappointed in our experiences. Safe to say we won't be back.

I always appreciate the bistro supervisor Chilli, she deserves a higher role due to her intelligence, competencies and work ethic keeps. Jj is another manager that I always appreciate, she lightens up my whole day with great bengery.
