Hotel
•Melbourne's Hotel Grand Chancellor is a four-star boutique hotel found right in the vibrant, beating heart of the city - in the theatre precinct, in the gateway to Chinatown, and within a stone's throw of the business district. Aside from being immensely popular with those visiting Melbourne to take in the sights, sounds and culture of the city on holiday, the Hotel Grand Chancellor also features a number of spaces for meetings and events. Six well appointed meeting rooms provide space to get the team or key stakeholders together away from the confines of the office. When it comes to larger events - like banquets or conferences - the Hotel Grand Chancellor easily hosts them too. Think informal events like networking breakfasts, all the way to professionally executed seminars.

Rating the hotel based on the price and our expectations. Not comparing it to the best hotels! It meet my expectations for a value hotel located smack in the city area and within walking distance to day tours meeting points and Asian eateries. Room was very nice but carpet was a little sticky so I wore shoes. The toilet is big but would be better if they had a normal shower on top of the rain shower so it's easier to wash my kid without wetting his hair if there's no need to. There's convenient store next door, supermarket and bakeries all within 10 min walk. Really convenient. There's plenty of food options too if Asian is not your choice. Would recommend for a value for money hotel. The staff were great! Very friendly with a smile and helpful.
Originally booked a standard queen room for our stay. Went down & asked reception if we could upgrade as this is our honeymoon & Julia on reception was so lovely. She said they had already upgraded us to a queen deluxe but since it was our honeymoon was more than happy to accommodate an upgrade again! (Since they had availability). Excellent service from Julia! Excellent room upgrade! Love the room! Would stay here again! Close to everything!
Staying here with my husband was fine but please be aware if you're a single female traveller - the hotel has no extra security measures - doors have no locks, no key card needed to use the lift and access any floor. If I was travelling alone, I would have felt extremely uncomfortable. Stayed for 4 nights in June as a cheap and central option. The room was very dark, poorly designed layout including the bathroom- no exhaust fan so bathroom got fogged up at every shower, raised shower with a partition that was too short meant water spilled onto the floor every time it was used. Bathroom had no cupboard or draws, only a very shallow shelf that stored very little. The room also had very poor storage, which is an issue if staying more than a couple of nights. Poor sound proofing - able to hear any movements down the hallway and from neighbouring rooms.
Nice stay, but have kept my security deposit for 10 days (7 business days) and counting. Completely unreasonable as there are no amenities/consumables provided in the room - and my stay was less than 24 hours. Staff keep telling me different stories.
A great, affordable hotel in the heart of the CBD. Staff are very friendly and accomodating, the premier rooms are really spacious and well equipped. It has a pretty impressive rooftop pool. Also a great bar area to sit and have a drink before heading out. 😊
