Hotel
•Melbourne's Hotel Grand Chancellor is a four-star boutique hotel found right in the vibrant, beating heart of the city - in the theatre precinct, in the gateway to Chinatown, and within a stone's throw of the business district. Aside from being immensely popular with those visiting Melbourne to take in the sights, sounds and culture of the city on holiday, the Hotel Grand Chancellor also features a number of spaces for meetings and events. Six well appointed meeting rooms provide space to get the team or key stakeholders together away from the confines of the office. When it comes to larger events - like banquets or conferences - the Hotel Grand Chancellor easily hosts them too. Think informal events like networking breakfasts, all the way to professionally executed seminars.

Stayed here recently and had a great experience. The reception team were consistently welcoming throughout the entire stay, which was a really nice touch — you don’t often see that level of care beyond check-in and check-out. When my room wasn’t ready, they offered me a drink while I waited, and even proactively moved my room to a quieter area as there was a two-day event planned outside. Really liked the service, and the newer rooms are nice.
I had no problems with the room, location, or staff. It was the work being done on the elevator shaft over the duration of my stay. 28 Feb - 2 Mar 25. Friday to Sunday. I was in room 1402 and the workers were out the front of my door using power tools the entire Saturday. Granted I spent a lot of time away from the room, but when I wanted an afternoon nap prior to my evening concert, I was dreaming. If I had of known when I was booking, I wouldn't have used this hotel. I understand works need to be done, but on a weekend when you have interstate travellers visiting your city is not a good look.
Great gem, got upgraded. Clean tidy and efficient staff. Building feels old but rooms are great and the pool is unavailable (March 2025) breakfast included and worth it.
Grand Chancellor Melbourne: Perfect Location & Impeccable Service The Grand Chancellor Hotel in Melbourne has an unbeatable location! It's a short walk to Chinatown, theatres, the Greek Quarter, shopping, and those charming Melbourne laneways. I loved being close to the action but still having a quiet room for a good night's sleep. What made my week-long stay truly special was the impeccable service. Every staff member, from the concierge to the cleaning team, was discreet, and attentive, and genuinely made me feel at home. They anticipated my needs before I even had to ask – my room was always immaculately cleaned and stocked with everything I needed. I stayed in a Superior Queen Room, which was spacious, comfortable, and had a lovely balcony. Highly recommend the Grand Chancellor Melbourne for a luxurious and convenient stay.
Great place to stay Comfy bed Friendly staff Only bad thing is the balcony. Specifically wanted one where we could sit and have morning coffee.. It's is not much bigger than the aircon unit out there..no room for even one chair. No pictures on the website. Just says they have balconies. They should disclose just how small they are.
