Hotel
•The Hotel Windsor Melbourne is Australia's most cherished and iconic five-star grand hotel. It first opened its doors in 1883 and is older than The Plaza and the Waldorf-Astoria in New York and The Savoy in London. It has since grown into what can be considered Melbourne's own little piece of history right on Spring Street. The Windsor Hotel is one of Melbourne's most impressive places to host an event, and for good reason.
The venue offers a backdrop that teams old-world elegance with modern convenience (and very talented professionals behind the scenes). Weddings especially will be treated to this prestigious setting whilst conferences or meetings can be held in any number of meeting rooms available on site.
The renovated Windsor Hotel was the site of an eventful royal visit in 1923. The hotel's opening ceremony featured a lunch attended by His Royal Highness, the Prince Of Wales. To commemorate this occasion, the owners renamed the property to "The Windsor." Today, this grand hotel remains a Melbourne landmark and possibly the finest five-star hotel in the city. Guests staying at the Hotel Windsor are treated to luxe accommodations, glorious dining (including a memorable high tea experience) and warm service.
The Canberra Room reflects the traditional beauty of the hotel and is popular for a diverse range of mid-sized events. It provides an excellent setting for a range of events from boardroom meetings to small conferences or intimate dinners.

Stayed for 4 days at the wonderful hotel. The service is absolutely incredible! Every staff member was so nice and helpful. The food there is amazing! So Devine! The rooms are beautiful, the building interior has a such a cinematic old British look. The building itself is gorgeous and such a great location, right at the train station and close to all the essentials! Would 100% recommend to anyone! You will definitely be seeing me again!
Ah, Windsor, you old dame. You used to be the belle of the ball, but now you're more like a faded beauty queen. Don't get me wrong, you still have some charm and grace, but you could use a makeover. Your halls are dim and yellow, your rooms are cramped and boring, and your furniture is worn and weary. I appreciate your vintage style, but it's not enough to justify your five star rating. You need some modern touches to brighten up your space and make it more comfortable. The bathroom was especially disappointing. The bath was old and chipped, the taps were missing bits, and the non-slip mat was dubious. I didn't feel pampered at all. Please, Windsor, don't let yourself go. You have so much potential and history. You deserve to shine again.
We had afternoon tea today. Dimitri was an amazing host. He had a chat with us, was personable and made the experience fun while maintaining a classy professional air to him the whole time. The food and tea was spectacular and drinking was silver teapots and beautiful china was the icing on the cake. Very special and gorgeous ambiance :)
We just finished a high tea at the Windsor. We would like to commend our lovely, efficient, kind, happy staff - Adriana, May and Kevin. The food was lovely, but the coffee exceptional. We felt it was value for money as food was plentiful and the surrounds old worldly. We did not feel rushed and found it easy to communicate with each other as there was a good distance between the tables. A wonderful way to spend a cold blustery afternoon. Well done to all .
As a wedding photographer I've worked at The Windsor many times and always had a fabulous experience, however my partner and I recently decided to treat ourselves to a staycation here for 3 nights for my birthday and our experience far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, every interaction with the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly professional. They were attentive, accommodating, and always with a smile. We were so impressed by their hospitality and kindness. Our room was beautiful, clean, and exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delightful, and the service remained impeccable. For those who appreciate history and architecture, the hotel's rich beauty and historical significance is fascinating. There are many interesting details scattered throughout the building, so take the time to wander the hotel and enjoy them. I couldn't recommend staying at the Windsor more!
