About the venue

The Hotel Windsor Melbourne is Australia's most cherished and iconic five-star grand hotel. It first opened its doors in 1883 and is older than The Plaza and the Waldorf-Astoria in New York and The Savoy in London. It has since grown into what can be considered Melbourne's own little piece of history right on Spring Street. The Windsor Hotel is one of Melbourne's most impressive places to host an event, and for good reason.

The venue offers a backdrop that teams old-world elegance with modern convenience (and very talented professionals behind the scenes). Weddings especially will be treated to this prestigious setting whilst conferences or meetings can be held in any number of meeting rooms available on site.

The renovated Windsor Hotel was the site of an eventful royal visit in 1923. The hotel's opening ceremony featured a lunch attended by His Royal Highness, the Prince Of Wales. To commemorate this occasion, the owners renamed the property to "The Windsor." Today, this grand hotel remains a Melbourne landmark and possibly the finest five-star hotel in the city.
