The shower door could not be easily opened from the inside as the handle was missing. The air conditioner did not work (35 deg outside). The bathroom sink was cracked. The desk chair was broken. The light fittings on the bed headboard could not be adjusted - they just hung there. The place just looked old, tired and well worn.
Room was fine and did the job but nothing special. The location is quite good as it’s only a couple of kilometres away from Melbourne cbd and is across the road from the royal children’s hospital as well as the royal women’s hospital so if you want wanted to you could use to send visitors/be an out patient of you needed to.
Extremely friendly staff and also helpful and understanding. My first room wasn’t nice as it looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in a while but got upgraded and that room was 10x better. Front desk staff were very helpful and sorry about the situation. Definitely recommend for a quick stay in the city.
I booked the executive suite, Room 01, to comfortably accommodate three adults, it did this but came at a price that exceeded the condition of the room. The suite consisted of a queen room and two single beds in the lounge area. On walking up the hallway my heart started to sink noticing the worn carpet and food odours, on opening the room door we were met with broken blinds, one completely missing, the door into the queen room had been removed and to make matters worse the opening was adjacent to the bathroom so no privacy at all. The televisions in the rooms were completely outdated so you could not connect anything to them if you wanted to, no chromecast etc, etc. I could go on but I'm sure you get the picture.
An odd place - I stayed 4 nights: Room facilities ok but everything very tired looking and the lift doesn't quite reach the ground when it opens. Rooms are noisy - next door TV sounds like it is broadcasting into the room and external noise is loud. Despite requesting a late check out (till midday) to accommodate an online work meeting (and double checking it was still in place the night before) I was disturbed during the meeting by housekeeping, and at 10.30am reception also phoned to check when I was leaving! Very annoying. Would probably not book again.
