From the same team who brought you Maeve Fox and Katuk, The Blacksmith Bar has opened its doors at 69 Swan Street. The original structure dates back to 1924, as McNaughton’s Ironmongers which can still be seen on the existing façade. Pratt Hospitality Group drew inspiration from this for the entire venue. Everything from the name of the venue, the quirky antique-style décor, the cocktail menu, and even the staff uniforms play on the history of the structure. After several weeks of structural upgrades, the building has been revitalised and given new life with a combination of eclectic surfaces, state-of-the-art technology and most importantly; personality which will continue to develop for years to come. Several months of planning have gone into the interior of the bar, as most pieces were sourced second-hand and then refurbished or reupholstered to tie in with the carefully chosen finishes throughout the venue. It is the perfect spot for a memorable dinner date, a delicious cocktail or a small, lively gathering with a group of friends. The cocktail menu is designed to be uncomplicated and simplistic; a paired backlist, paying homage to the old classics. Swan Street is now established as one of the busiest entertainment precincts in Victoria, and The Blacksmith aims to complement the existing offering, while also elevating the precinct as a whole. Not only can The Blacksmith cater to functions, but you can also reserve an area for small or large groups with no minimum spend. Booking is not required, however, tables fill up quickly, especially during Happy Hour which is every single day between 4 pm - 7 pm and includes 1/2 price Tap Beer and 1/2 price Basic Spirits.
