We had a great time at the Cannington Venue. We loved the nicely courses. Everything was clean and the kids and adults had heaps of fun.
Where to start! We arrived early for our birthday booking for 20. We checked in and were directed to wait in an "overflow" area which was actually really nice with a balcony. That's where it ends..great bar area with no staff. Staff actually came into the area to do nothing and actually walked past customers waiting at the bar without telling them the bar was not staffed. We actually told people they had to go to the main bar. Eight of the tables still had plates and half eaten food from the previous party and were not cleared in the hour we waited. I cleared our table myself. Had pizzas which were fine, drinks were very slow to come ordering on the table code. Terrible service but for one young man who went above to assist us. After golf a security guard came to ask for ID, no explanation that it turns into an over 18 venue later in the night. My 8 month pregnant daughter was asked for ID even though she was clearly over 25 and drinking water and cola. When my son and I pointed out she obviously didn't need to be carded his response was "you know people under 25 can have babies too" Then got smart and asked me for ID, I'm 54. Then told us he could ask anyone who looked under 30 for ID! We asked the manager and he said he would talk to him about his approach, don't know if he did. Was asked for feedback, pretty much put in the above and was told they had tried to call me. No missed calls when I was out of range for work. Asked them to call me Friday 14th, no call. Golf is fun, staff need a LOT of customer service training, clean your tables guys, not hard if I can clear mine in 30 seconds! No toilet paper or soap in the ladies toilet either. It's not professional and is unhealthy. Won't be back!
I was served at the counter by a nice girl who was very helpful but she was maybe 1 of 5 staff members. The place seems very understaffed for the size of the venue. While I was waiting to order drinks a group in front of me was forced to wait when a bartender in the middle of serving them was sent away and we all had to wait for the manager to serve them. The manager was incredibly rude to the party in front of me and me as well as I assume she thought I was part of the group and make me feel very uncomfortable. The manager seemed to care more about making the groups life more difficult than actually attending to patrons. To end all I’ve had lots of fun times with friends at this venue but they seem to be missing all the kind staff that used to work here and the management seemed to be more interested in being anywhere else than helping their staff members who everyone else was incredibly helpful and kind.
Everyday family deal for a family of 4 for $48 Got to the online checkout and only got $8 discount. Ended up paying $170+ For 4 adults and 3 kids. I thought they would consider the two adults and two kids in that group a family, I guess you have to do it one purchase at a time. Place was packed and busy. Only 3 staff on the floor working very hard. But couldn't even handle customer queries anymore, they wouldn't say hi or approach or care to ask if you need a hand. I understand they were busy and shorthanded by the looks of it, but I was literally approaching and it just looked like they didn't want to deal with me by acting busy or pretending I wasn't there when I was waiting and right right front of them. Anyway, I feel ripped off. Expensive, for a packed and busy playground. Which I get it is normal. But the customer service.. for, has a room for a lot of improvements. At least greet your customer and have the decency to say, "sorry, I will be with you in a moment." Not ignore, or pretend to be busy when they are about to approach you. Dealing with the customers is more important than, cleaning the golf balls or talking to your workmate on your radio, again, ignoring the customer. Not a single acknowledgement.
A fun activity for the whole family. You can play 9 or 18 holes. They take the companion card, if you are taking someone who needs support. Great, friendly staff!
