The reception staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The hotel’s location is excellent—peaceful and tucked away from the city's busy areas, yet still conveniently close. Cafés and other amenities are just around the corner. The room was clean and well-equipped with most of the essentials. A pair of in-room slippers would have been a nice addition. The main downside was the housekeeping service. Towel replacements were inconsistent—there were times when hand or face towels, and even basic items like toothbrushes, were missing. Used towels placed on the floor were not always replaced, and I had to contact reception to request fresh ones. Even then, housekeeping did not deliver them, and the reception staff kindly brought them up instead, which I appreciated. On another occasion, despite having the 'Do Not Disturb' sign displayed, housekeeping still entered the room, replaced some towels, but did not make the bed or empty the trash. It seems the housekeeping team could benefit from better training and management. Aside from that, everything else during the stay was smooth and enjoyable.
I had the pleasure of staying at this property while attending a course, and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The staff at the reception went above and beyond to assist me, particularly after a long day. They kindly looked after my suitcase while I parked my vehicle, ensuring I felt well taken care of. The location is situated in a quiet area, offering a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The bar and restaurant provided a comfortable setting to unwind, with excellent ambiance and service. Overall, I would highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to stay again if I need accommodation in Perth in the future.
The front desk team at Holiday Inn West Perth is polite and welcoming, though they could benefit from additional training to embody the true IHG hospitality standard. Unfortunately, the biggest letdown for this hotel is the food and beverage experience. We always book the breakfast package with our stays, which includes a small selection from the buffet along with juice, tea, and coffee. However, on all but two occasions, the Nespresso coffee machine did not work. When we requested coffee, we were given coffee from the machine behind the bar, only to find that upon checkout, we were billed $40 for four coffees. After disputing the charge, it was eventually waived, but it raised the question: why charge for coffee when it is included in the breakfast package? The hospitality in the restaurant also leaves much to be desired. With the exception of one server on Saturday, the staff, including who we believe is the restaurant manager, showed little to no attention to guests. There is signage instructing guests to wait to be seated, but every morning, despite being clearly seen by the manager, we were ignored and ended up seating ourselves. Compared to other IHG properties worldwide, this restaurant experience is by far the worst. While I would still recommend the hotel itself for its comfortable stay and polite front desk team, I strongly advise against booking the breakfast package, as both the food quality and hospitality are seriously lacking.
Thanks to the staff for attending two single beds while waiting at the counter. Being a frequent traveller, I personally believe a sleeping bed is crucial. At the end of the day, that is worth the value in return. Enjoy trips!
This hotel is a gem of a place. My husband and I stayed here for one week visiting Perth. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was great, the breakfast was amazing. A big shout out to Richard, on staff, who was went out of his way and extremely helpful to make our stay very lovely. Oh and the rooms were huge! Having the free CAT buses right outside the door was awesome, we used them all the time to get in and out of the city. We would for sure stay there again.
